I am planning to purchase my first bike in budget of 2 lacs. I will use the bike as occasional cruising and bike should be easy for Delhi traffic. I am confused between RE bikes and Mahindra Mojo.
I heard lot of things for both bike. I watched all the reviews read the complete thread.

      Pro:
If I talk about RE It's name has legacy in it's simple and powerful machine and popular too. If I purchase RE classic today I can see that bike in my garage after 10 years. I am sure RE classic will be with me for ages, I seen RE 10-15yr old and still working. Simple built allow yourself to do some maintenance. It looks great package to me.

      Con:
But In other side when I see that loud thump which could be good at lower speeds and for short rides but I dont think at speed of 90-100 (whic is the best speed for RE bikes for longer distances) that thump sounds good. According to owners review RE is not reliable machine common problem like oil leaks, clutch wire, false neutral, gear problem, engine knocking sound, vibration in handle etc.

      Second Bike: Mahindra Mojo.

      Pro:
Looks not very popular I can see so many bikes on road but on paper is far away from RE in every manner smooth engine better power output, No vibration.
Handling is good for city traffic, better tier all parts are imported, decent built quality. Higher spped of cruising and lot more.

      Con:
Long term reliability, low city mileage in comparison to RE, complex engine needed skilled technician.

I am confusied which bike should I go, Please suggest if is there any other bike which I can consider.

      Thanks
      Bhavishya

      Hi Bhavishya,

Consider test riding the CBR250 also, it one of the bikes which falls in your price range. The enfield will be more expensive to maintain and the build quality had gotten a little better now (from 2012 ).

Test ride and research all the bikes before you decide.

      Regards.

Doesn't changing exhaust in an EFI must follow a remap in ECU ? If not , the change in back pressure might adversely affect the engine as the EMS does not get feedback of the new free flow silencer. Can any expert throw some light on this ?

Is exhaust change to a free flow affect engine without a ECU remap?

Cat con is still there, there won't be any major drop in back pressure. Though I agree some drop of back pressure is there but that that won't do much related to tuning of air fuel ratio.

There would have been issues if I would have removed the cat con too. I anyways always felt that my bull is running rich, so on my next service I'll ask them to make it a little lean. Which can be done by a screw on the intake manifold of our bikes.

Oh , I assumed you took out the catcon too. So , it isn't technically a ff exhaust. Also , from my understanding , the manifold pressure sensor automatically adjusts the A/F mixture in fuel injected ones . Can the A/F be messed manually? Is it recommended ?

So , It's safe to change exhausts to red rooster or any other unless I keep the catcon intact . Right ?

Actually you can get any muffler on your bull, if it's not restricting the exhaust.

A little amount of fuel settings can be done on our EFi. I'll get mine adjusted on my next service.

                Hi all,
I have just booked a Classic 500 Desert Storm two days back. The waiting period is 1 month. Though the dealer told me he can try to get it earlier, I don't expect it before the first week of February. Hoping to add my Bullet Story here as well. I have been reading through all the positives and negatives of RE, and was almost going in for another brand. However, my heart would never have been satisfied had I gone for any other. On the road, I give second glances only to the RE.
                Safe riding.

                      To reduce vibrations I suppose.

                        Hey guys,
My Classic 500 Desert storm is just a week old. Have been thoroughly enjoying the rides so far. Look forward eagerly every day to take it for a spin in the early morning mist.
My only worry is the tapping sound at low RPMs. I haven't gone above 60 KMPH so far and have been diligent enough to make sure I don't accelerate quickly.
I took it to the service center three days after delivery and informed them about this. I was told not to worry and carry on till the first service. This would go away after the service is done. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
If you faced(or face) the same issue and have had it solved, please let me know.

                            Hello all RE proud owners,

At the outset, i must admit the fact that RE is cult motor Bike brand which is by far ahead of any other bike brand. i.e. Pulsar, Apache etc...

I am planning to be part of this cult community of RE.

This will be my first RE..

But, when it comes to put my figure down & choose the best bike for me...i am confused & skeptical (due to lack of experience & knowledge ) between RE350 & RE SD 500.

Now, like a layman i have been doing preliminary research to find appropriate solution to my confusion but nothing has worked out so far.

I have come across few common facts about both the variants which are commonly available on every thread.

for RE 350 - best for city rides, best for first time RE buyers,
after some time intensity of thump gets depleted.
Carburetor Engine creates some problem after some time.

Whereas RE 500 - best for long tours, EFI engine takes care of fuel efficiency & vibrations , Power & Thump in this bike are beyond comparison.

Now, I am a common 9-5 PM working guys who aspires to ride best in class Motor bike to enjoy my daily office commute as well as occasional weekend trips to Lonavala ,Lavasa & Mulshi..

I am unable to decide whether I should go for RE 350 or RE 500..

Would highly appreciate to receive some critical feedback from original RE owners to help me clear this apprehension.

Buddy, don't get confused get 500 eyes closed, there is no replacement for displacement. 500 is good for city too, I own a SB500 and pretty happy with it. With some minor issues here and there.
