I believe that was to hold the chain case that the RTR had and the RTR refresh has done away with.

No Its a kind of Bar end weight for reducing vibes at the pillion foot peg along with the rider foot peg for the left side, the right side is ballenced by the Silencer itself.
You can try removing the same and feel the hell lota vibes in ur leg

No it is not for that. Its fixed below foot peg and not to swing arm like chain cover brackets.

Its normal with disc brakes. the brake pads are continously in contact of disc. thats why it is so. neglect it.

Even i have my bike's(Victor) silencer was replaced along with the fuel tank because of rust factor. And that was in the year 2004, where a bike named 'Apache' not even existed.

TVS is quick in settling warranty issues as compared to other manufacturers. There are many who are as lucky as Satish's as they know how to deal with the situation and actually know which parts should be taken into consideration for warranty.I know many owners who have changed shock absorbers, electric starter unit and what not!!

my point with this rant is that i specifically bought a showroom new bike because i wanted warranty cover and service. both of which i'm not getting even for minor issues. i shudder to think what would happen if my bike had all those choking and missing and backfiring issues. i'm 100% sure that all three svc centres nearest to my location would not propery resolve them.

                              we're not all Satishs ...

                              Damn ! i didn't know that
Sorry, may not have seen your earlier posts, but did you escalate the issue? In my past experience, companies have interpreted warranties quite liberally... also there is something like goodwill warranty. You just gotta know how to take it to the right people. Then you may be able to get all kinds of stuff changed...

And I'v found TVS good in that respect. I had gotten LOTS of parts changed in my Shogun... In fact they were ready to change whatever I wanted changed. But that was years ago... don't know if they are still that customer centric now.
