  • Brothers please help me!!!!!

Please need your suggestion that what should I do :-I am from kolkata and have 160 fi but the authorize svc of showroom from
where I buyed the bike , guys are unable to service my rtr 160fi properly as they know nothing and only one guys can ,but
generally 98% days he is unseen in svc so later I went kolkata 's biggest and old tvs svc(saha tvs), but I was more dissappointed as there service
guys knows work but they are so much lazy that they are unable to service 8 bikes in a day and they need 2-3 days.My bike was in 8th no. and the work was:-
    1- change of oil filter
2- cleaning of injector but they said it is not needed without cheaking the bike and concluded need washing of cluch???? never heard ???
3- there was some knowcking was there in the chain when ever was rip or bike is going on a incline road gat-gat sound is coming
4- tappet inspection clearance and adjustment if needed.
    5- tuning.
I don't think it will take svc 2-3 dam days as there is lots of service personell working there but I was surprice to see that the guys was not doing work and roaming heare and there
even the lunch time is 2-3 pm but the guys are coming after 3 and starting work around 3.40-4.10pm and after 5.30-6.00pm they are even not willing to touch my bike
and the supervisor came and telling me he is unable to provide my bike as per job card is alline they will service my bike according to the estimate time given.
I really got frustrated and decided to take ny bike without service and ask to ,not only ask requested only to change the fuel filter and tune the bike
but the mechanic whome the supervisor ask to do the work was shouting and was not willing to do the work. It took him only 20min to install fuel filter and
was not willing to the tuning ,later light goes off so no tuning , only just for 20min work my 2 dam days went in vein even the mechanic was telling me that there was high amt
of carbon deposit in the valve and injector that is why the performance is droped a bit without even check it (I use extra premium so only after13900km carbon really deposit???) a tvs official also was present there and after asking him he told me that injector should be clean after 18000kms if needed and my bike done 13900kms.After change of fuel filter bike is running ok but I was pissed of to see there is a scratch in the
bike's windshield just above the headlight but unable to notice as there was no light later i notice.

Guys I am really disgusted about the service center of tvs and the way the work is done and Iam really confuse what to do.
Now I am thinking this is time to make a complain and send mail to tvs higher officials. Need your suggestions bros..please help me.......

Great excusive MRF dealers they are, infact when i searched the 90/90 size tyre for my FIERO back then, the "normal" tyre dealer suggested me MRF Q.

        • How to Adjust the RPM of FI without the PC Diagnostic Tool??

Is there any method to adjust the RPM of FI, without taking it to the showroom?

Like in DIY section HYDBIKER showed a technique of adjusting the RPM on R15.

See page 30 of the FI service manual. First make sure the engine is at optimum temperature (75-90C). 15 minutes of running should do it. Then adjust the screw on the right side of the throttle body. I'm not sure if anything happens in the ECU if the rpm is set without connecting to PC, but the service guys do it all the time and i blast them for it all the time too!

Oh, and the PC will give you an exact reading of rpm, the console tacho will show something else altogether. Try to use a Pulse Engine Tachometer if you can get one while setting it. I've seen em use it at suzuki and yamaha techs should have them too.

Or is it just a camera angle which made it appear like this? Coz in the 1st pic, it looks OK.

BTW, silencer looks nice without heat shield. But the mountings are spoiling the grace. Why not go for some kind of toppings.

A small (wild) artistic touch given to my TigeRTR.

Leave the mountings man. It's too much work to grind them down, then paint over and finish etc. And you can never fit the heat shield back say if you want to sell the bike or something. Trust me, once you use a couple of big, round, black screws in the holes, they look much better.

Add the light cover. It looks like something's missing. And does the 180 mudguard look better with a slim no plate like on the front? or is it ok with the standard double height one.

and i see your tank has become glossy too due to jeans buffing! but the rest is still pretty matte unlike mine. and i don't even wash my bike very often. Will have to try some kind of rough polish paste to get back my matte finish.

The bike looks very sporty without the leg guard. Will look more so without mirrors. Try it and take a few pics.

Yes, it's the camera angle that's making it look so downwards.

Will arrange some big "head" screws and bolt them on, but i'm still getting an itch to grind them down and get it painted for that all smooth black affect, cuz i'm not gonna sell my FI.

I've ordered the light cover but they have not arranged it still.
The rear number plate with the standard size looks more good, i've seen narrower plates on 180, though they expose more of that "v" in mudguard but they dont look good.

                      You noticed it!!!!
My tank and side panels have become super glossy, mainly due to jeans, if you'll be putting my bike next to a brand new matt grey one, you wont believe that my bike was once matt grey too.
But gloss bought that wet deep look with it which i like.

The bike looks very sporty without the leg guard. Will look more so without mirrors. Try it and take a few pics.

Check out that belly pan i removed too, but i kept the side part of it.
Cant remove the mirrors man, i cannot drive without them.
I just came after a 25 kms ride, as today i rode my bike after 5 days, cuz of the scorching sun i'm forced to drive my car, leaving my bike waiting for me in shade.

First thing i did was, i went to the fuel pump and told the guy to brim it up with power, (it was showing 3 bars) after pouring 9 liters, it came to the neck, still the guy was like it can swallow another one liter, i refused, but after shutting it down and switching the ignition on, all the bars glowed then the top one vanished, god, these TVS fuel meters.

First thing i noticed was the bike was dead after 10000 RPM, no power and i mean no power after that, the moment i was hitting 10K it was begging for the next gear, dont know what's the reason as earlier it used to die after 10500.

Rest was the same, only this diff i noticed.

Hey, never say never, you never know what's never gonna happen
Anyway, if you've decided you will never use the heat shield again, then by all means grind it down and repaint. It will looks super cool with that smooth matte black finish. But ur surface isn't that bad. Mine has numerous little scrapes due to careless a$$oles parking next to my bike. Plus, my downpipe has lost all the paint due to heat and is now rusted. So my silencer is eligible for a paint job really. But remember, local jobs will never last as long as the company paint. For best results, completely sand off the old paint, exposing the metal, then use 2-3 coats of a good heat-proof primer, then powder coat.

Btw, make sure you cut the screws down to the correct length, otherwise they will scrape the silencer body.

                        You noticed it!!!!

Yeah, now i'm used to it too, when i see a new matte grey in the showroom it looks kinda kacchha.

Check out that belly pan i removed too, but i kept the side part of it.

I can't ride without mirrors either, and even the leg guard, though it spoils the looks a bit, it's saved my bike's and my arse too many times to let it go. But bikes looks super cool without mirrors. Hmm, i really like the belly pan, the detailing is just incredible. I'm sure the desginer who was assigned the belly pan, had way too much time on his hands.

Just today i was abusing my fuel meter too. Sometimes the damn thing doesn't budge, othertimes it shows too much. Maybe the heat or maybe the old fuel remaining in the lines. But that would clear up in 2-3kms.

For max to max i'll be shelling out 300 bucks on the grinding and painting job for this thing, cuz i'll be throwing it away the moment that bada$$ free flow from pro kit will be out.

                              • New RTR rear tire review

Julian, as if the rain gods heard you, it rained and I took the RTR for a spin. The tire review as you asked:

                                1. Slush - Scary. As scary as my R15 rear. The bike keeps fish tailing. Acceleration renders wheel spin!
                                2. Mud - No problems
                                3. Standing Water - Good. Not scary at all.
                                4. Cornering in dry - No problems
                                5. Cornering in rain - Feels like the bikes on the limit always!
                                6. Braking(rain/dry) - Good enough. Tire grips fine
