How can i make out if the engine is in good condition?
Well it does have problems but the seller says everything would be fine after servicing.
Please guide me as I don't want to buy the bike and spend a fortune repairing it!
Get the bike examined by a trusted mechanic.

    Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi

    Hello, good people.
My 220 Fi has been serving me faithfully on the occasional highway rides that I take. However, of late I have finally hit the point where the fuel filter has sprung a small leak, and the congealed dirt and fuel is creeping out on to the tank and eating up the paint.
As usual, the SVC guys have the standard No Spares Available response.
Would any of you know where I could source the following parts?
    1. Fuel Filter Assembly
    2. Fuel Pump
    3. Fuel Pipe in and out.

These are the part names that the SA has indicated that needs replacing. I'm far too attached to this bike to let it go to the scrapyard
Help out a brother please? I can pay and have it couriered to Mysore if it's available.

The one way clutch is also different , cdi etc
So what do you suggest should I do?

No signs of visible rusts except the clamps.
I also wanted to let you all know that the bike had higher idling around 2k, the rpm needle has it's mind of it's own and there was no pickup even in first gear. Felt like bike is struggling.
Could this be a cluth plate issue?
The gear indicator showed neutral even while in gear and there was the high temp oil light always on even when it was cold
I'm planning to get this bike as I'm getting a good deal but what type of work would it need?
And a near estimate of money to be spent on the bike would be great.
    Thanks!

So you advice to keep the bike as it is?
Also the owner doesn't exactly know about carb conversion.

I'm planning to get an used pulsar 220f 2008 model.
I know that it was originally a fuel injected version but the seller has converted it into carburetor.
Is it possible to convert it back into fi and what are the estimates for doing so?
    Thanks for your efforts!

Michelin Pilot Sporty is available in stock size so they'll fit fine, though you run the risk of wrecking while riding in the rain.

As for Michelin Pilot Street Radial then you would need to up-size a bit, wont be an issue if safety is your concern.

    Thumb rule!

If its Michelin and its cheap and don't get it. The Pilot Sporty in particular has a reputation for being dangerously slippery when wet.

A decent Michelin such as the Pilot Street Radial will set you back by 4~5k per tire.

You can, but do note that the P220's do not come with a decompressor.

    Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi

    Hello everyone,

I am planning a tyre swap and wanted to know if P220 Fi forks can accommodate AS200 Front tyres?

    Std size - 90/90-17
    AS 200 Size - 100/80-17

I want to fix Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/80-17 for the best grip at front.

If anyone has undertaken this tyre swap previously or knows about it and can guide, please help out.
