Hi Dear Flame owners - As we all know that our Bikes haveing lot of problems and Grinding sounds in our Engine - and I've found a way toResolve all those problems - Infact my Mechanic has done it far better...
My Drive completed more than 15k ODO.... I didnt had much a problem with all these days
But For the past two weeks i found her not well as there is some kind of Grinding and pissing noise came from the engine from Low End to 40....After 40 she was Smooth... and the usual Grinding Noise at Low Speeds become more Frequent -- and she handled lot more Badly...Gear shifts were bad and Clutch got more Tighten than usual
And the changes that were made to the Engine were
*Piston Head Shaving
*Valves Holes Extended (all the 3 valve)
To my surprise all the Grinding noise of the engine has resolved and the engine feels butter smooth in all the gears - doesnt matter if i raise the accelerator even in the 4th Gear at speeds of 20 - the engine feels butter Smooth...
To be Frank I've never ridden a Flame with this much Smoothness - even when i test drived the New DS125cc of Flame...
The mechanic just costed me 500INR for the over all servicing and to do the above Job...
He also quoted that he has the experience of handling LML Energy which was also an 3 Valve Engine which had the same kind of Problem that now Flame is having...
I've been adviced to runin below 60 for next 200KM or so.... to make the head and valves set for the new setup....
Im advising to all Flame Owners to do the above things to bring your Engine to Life...
If you do not care for the Warranty
TVS SVC really really really S****s.....I would rather say TVS Enginers are Stup**s.

Hi,
Congratulations by this great looking bike.
In Colombia recently arrived SR and we are concerned with the vibrations of which you speak.
Are as strong as those of the Apache RTR?
And the disc brake of the Apache (front) can be adapted in the flame?
Thanks a lot by response me this questions..

It is quite Smooth if driven correctly..
Yes Disc Brake Assembly of RTR (Apache) can be adapted in Flame - but u need to Change Holder of the Fork to make the Disc fit in .....

Hi guys....it has been really a long time after I logged into xbhp as it is blocked in my office and it's amazing to see that there are so many Flame riders and a heart full tanks to Thunder for his hard work and also others. I just wanted to let you know one thing ( I don't know whether any one of you have experienced this or not. If "yes", kindly let me know your bikes performance). The story goes like this.
In the month of around Feb 2010, I got a call from my regular service station (Tristar authorized dealer of TVS, Bangalore). He told me that as there is a lot of vibration in the bike and a sort of sound in the engine not the regular one...the company is providing the SRC kit for the bike which will cost around 2000/- and it will be fitted for free.
After this replacement there was a lot of vibration in the tank and leg rest after around 1 month while cleaning the bike I noticed that the vibration in the tank was because the bolt below the seat was not tightend properly...but the vibration in the leg rest (front) was not decreased...can't keep my leg on it above 60.....
Contacted TVS company call center and sent them a email of the disappointment, but no response from them and it was very frustrating and disappointing.
Just yesterday 03-April-2010..I went to a local mechanic and asked him to do the regular service and also to use volvoline oil....so let me see what will happen but one thing that I have noticed is that the engine is getting heated up very fast after the replacement...really afraid of going for a long ride now.
If any one has gone through this experiece of getting a free SRC kit, please let me know your experiece......
After reading through the entire thread after around 4 or 5 months...I see that you are complaining about cold starting problem whick I faced in the beggining...but this problem got completly solved after my first service when I went and scolded the service station guys...my bike will stay in the basement of my office through out the night from 7:30pm to 4:30am (imagine how cold it will be) but the movement I press the start button it gets started without any problem....and one more thing what about the storage kit on top of the tank...as the bike is around 17 months old...and as I have used the cap on the storage kit a lot it has become very loss and vibrates a lot at a speed of 50kms....any idea of how to get it fixed.. and the vibration in the leg rest is just making me restless.....I asked the mech..but no use...
Wat is the main differece in the bike models that have released till now..(CCVTI {which I own}, SR and DS. I see the tech differece..but wat is the differece in handling, grip, speed, milege and so on..
A very imp question...any one from Bangalore with Flame...so we can meet once....so we can take some pics with the bikes...and post it in the forum...if you wish you can contace me at 810534110...Last edited by Wing; 04-05-2010, 02:56 AM.I don't know where the bike ends and I begin...If heaven doesn't allow bikes..I'll ride mine straight to hell.

Hi Ramsuresh,
There are No Differences between the SR and DS and Ordinary Flame...
Except the Techniologies used, other that that Flame has nothing to do with the handling, and the Crap issues it has in it...
To be on More Frank im getting Fed up with my Bike....
Reasons
1 - Lots of Vibrations
2 - Non-smoother Engine (Compared to Pulsars)
3 - Poor mileage (Im getting only 40)
4 - Pathetic Service (even TVS Officials accept that its an Failure Model)
Even my local Mechanic is unable to do anything with it.....
Its only 20 Months Old and now im hating it a lot....
All of you know that at the beginning i Loved it but now its Ulta....
Im not sure till how many months i will own the same Bike....Lets see...

Vibrations, can't help....
Smoother engine...after chaning my engine oil it is okay now but when compred to Pulasr it is not..Pulsar is really good...
Mileage, 45 to 50 km/l...has completed around 19,000kms
TVS service...f***k them...
Why shouldn't we open a new thread with the problems and send the link to the TVS officials...will send a message to the moderators or to the admin do send one if possible......I don't know where the bike ends and I begin...If heaven doesn't allow bikes..I'll ride mine straight to hell.

Many problems.. pls help..
Hi all.
I bought TVS flame ds125 (blue) in January 2010. This is my first bike.I'll post the pictures of my bike soon..
I dont ride the bike daily. i have completed nearly 1000 kms now.
I have lots of vibrations while driving above 40 - 45..
When driving till 40kmph, it is very smooth but after that some noise and feels like something holding my bike back.
My bike is having top speed of only 85 kmph.
Clutch is very tight to hold in traffic it creates pain in hand..
Gear change is very hard. Gear seems to get stuck while driving in traffic.
I get a mileage of only 45 to 50..
Please help me solve this problem friends..
The tvs guys says the free service will be cancelled if i dont do service in the prescribed date. Even though i haven't drove much , i have done 2 services already. They are costing me rs.200 for every service for engine oil. Do we have to do service in the given date or we can do service only after completing the no of kms required ?
Once i had some problem in speedometer that the needle stops in 0 kmph and fuel indicator blinks. so they changed that in warranty. but now again the needle goes back to 0 kmph suddenly while driving. do anyone else experience the same problem ?Last edited by narendrakumar; 06-08-2010, 12:16 PM.

Hi NarendraKumar
Welcome to XBHP....and Congrats for buying TVS Flame
Your Problems Look weird
1 - You have lots of Vibrations
Do let us know where you feel the vibration, in the Legs, Or in the hands, or just a ripping noise from the Bikes Body?
If the vibrations or in the legs ask the Service people to Tighten or replace the Foottrests, because this happened for me too
If the Vibrations or in the Handlebar, ask them to tight the handlebar screws there might be some mounts which could have got loosen askthem to replace them
If its from body then check the side panels tightness just start your bike and check for these vinrations
As far as the Clutch tightness is concerned my bike also had this problem initially - ask the service guys to clean the clutch plates and also if required ask them to change the clutch cable also
For gear change ask them to check the gear plates also ask them to clean and put the gear plates
For the mileage issue you may be running in a Heavy mixture ask the service guy to change the carb settings
But as far as i know DS gives only mileage lesser than 50KMPL
You cannot get more than that
The reason is that in DS model flame they have reduced the piston size keeping the other parts of the engine and carb on the same size so as this reason reduction in mileage has happened
Yes offcourse you have to do your Free Services as per the time interval given by the TVS Guys.....If not the free services either will be cancelled or they will take two coupons for one free service
And offcourse you have to pay for Engine Oil changes and all this is common to all service centres
Reg the Speedometer you can ask them to replace the full assembly - if they deny escalate it to the higher authorities
Answer these questions
1 - where you service your bike regularly?
2 - Have you even gave your bike to an local mechanic to resolve these problems?
3 - where you stay if you are in chennai i can help you
