      Caliber Croma "The Unstoppable"

Am a proud owner of a Bajaj Kawasaki Caliber croma 2002 model, by far the bike has done 30000 KM thanks to the faulty pinion which even after replacing 6 times, stops working after every 1.5-2k Km .

Anyways other than the minor problems, the experience has been good, never failed though. Mileage has been fantastic, always above 60. But off lately is showing signs of age.

        My first love

As a fellow calliber owner, i felt i had to post on this thread. So here goes

But 7 years back, i got the Calliber, a gift from my Dad on getting an engg seat. Now 7 years and 65,000 kms later i still love my bike. In fact i do drive it to office

Its specially when i hear people talking about engine troubles, frequent maintenance charges (engine oil, chain lube etc) that i know what an awesome piece of engineering this bike.

The only major repair i have done was to change the clutch plate and brake pad once, everything else is still stock (except for a little batman sticker near the license)

So as the ad went this bike is/was/will be truly unshakeable
Behind every great rider is an even better pit crew. Mine is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kaulso...57871924291255
And every great rider also needs to relax and hang out somewhere. I do that at http://www.facebook.com/2wheelengine

I have a March 2003 Caliber 115. Covered 90K kms. The only problem I am facing is rusting of the fuel tank. Bajaj no longer makes spares for this beauty.

If anyone can get me a Star Blue fuel tank, it would go another 50K kms easily!

            Hello Guys,

Finally I came across the thread I always wanted to see. I have been driving a Caliber 115 since November 2003.

Yes, I do agree that the Caliber is not a head turner or a Powerhouse, but Initially when the Caliber 115 was launched, It was the Most Powerful & the most appealing bike in the 100 CC segment (If I am not wrong, Splendors and Passions had 7.2 or 7.7 BHP, while the Caliber gave 9.5 BHP power).

Engine is very responsive and I just love the way this baby zips through the city traffic.

I have been a genuine fan of this Vehicle, but since last 4-5 months, my bike is giving me a Fuel Efficiency of only 45 kmpl whereas it used to return 60 - 65kmpl always.

I dont know what is wrong with its engine. Every time I go to the Bajaj Service centres & complain, but I dont think they are doing anything to get the fault rectified, may be they have a Lavish approach as this one time Hot seller of the company has been discontinued.

Can anyone suggest me what can be done in this FE concern & how can I increase it?

Recently I have changed the spark plugs and I never cross the green zone of the tacho needle.

Please check the exhaust for any white smoke in higher rpm and please check the owners manual for right spark plug - thats all I can say after having caliber since 2001.
              Move on.........

Been a proud owner of caliber 115 (From June 2004 till last week) and I have clocked 52k KMs..Never faced any issues with the bike as it was uber smooth, extra tough and amazing riding experience.
Only Millage had dropped to 40-45 kmpl but the smoothness still the same.
Finally it was time to move on and I had to let her go and bring in my latest crush GS 150R.....
Even though GS provides everything a Biker ever wish for I still miss my first love "My Kawasaki bajaj Caliber 115" Hudibaabaaaaa!!!!!

Congrats to all who own a marvelous bike called Caliber one of the most reliable machine on Indian road

BTW, it would be good to rename the thread as "Kawasaki Caliber' instead of 'Bajaj Caliber'

Since my last post in this thread, I have added 18K more to the odo, which now reads (1)08K.

Got the fuel tank welded and painted, but could not find the Kawasaki decals, so had to settle for Bajaj ones.

I have done 1 lakh km on my 2003 hoodibaba, recently changed the rear tyre to MRF 100/90. Only thing which bothers me is the styling, can I spruce up it anywhere in mumbai.

Have you removed the chain cover to accomodate the upsized tyre? The stock tyre is only about 3mm away from the chain cover.

Regarding the styling, I would say keep it stock. I have got the tank welded and repainted about 18 months ago, and it was quite hard to find the kawasaki decals. Had to settle with the Bajaj ones. My bike has done 1.15 lakh and is showing some signs of aging. I will most likely buy a Suzuki next March and this one will be on parking and school duty.
