What usually Bajaj Guys do in first service? I dont want them to tinker much of the system and just to replace oil and thats it. Yes, the system feels abit harsh, need to work on that as well.

Horn is funny and needs a dual horn for sure.

Hello all, I was using a 2013 Bajaj Avenger till last year before I left for overseas. Now I have a 2015 Avenger, run 13000 KMS. Due to frequent low speed traffic I am unable to sustain speeds beyond 25 kmph. What can be done to marginally undergear the bike? The current threshold of 5th gear is more than it's possible. I have seen 43T of KTM Duke 200 used on P220 on YouTube. Can it be used?

During break in I was very careful not to ride above the speeds of 60kmph , I thought this would pay off once I had rode the bike for 2000kms , but I was dead wrong.

The bike is having a really hard time crossing the speeds of even 70kmph , forget going 💯+ .

Literally my Honda Activa was faster than this bike , riddle me that.

Is my bike ruined or is this normal for avengers?
Why is my bike struggling to go past the speeds of even 60kmph , I am eating dust out here. Being overtaken by those pathetic Bajaj vikrant bikes. Please Help me fellas.
Its an cruiser not an sports bike, plus fat rear tyre & bike is heavy, so it's not going win race with Activa & v15. I can understand, even I was frustrated by it, but now I love riding at relaxed speed, once u hit proper rpm band (wish it had a tachometer) u can easily hit 70+ with ease. I did it thrice, just cannot replicate it again due to lack of tachometer. Have faith in your ride & enjoy it.

I've read in cartoq.com about strong rumor of Avenger 400 will be launched in Auto Expo 2018. It is expected in a little detuned version than dominar but will be equipped with Disc brakes on both wheels and ABS. It will compete Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird 500.

As mechanical engineer, i know that the engine needs to run in its peak power band and high rpm for better performance. Thats why 5th gear needs higher rpm to go beyond 70-80 speed.

Still i managed to install 15T front sprocket for relaxed cruising in 5th gear. Original front sprocket is 14T, after replacing it with 15T bike is more relaxed in 5th gear, but there are some drawbacks too.
I cannot use 5th gear below 60 speed now and pickup at high load reduces.its ok for me

Kindly share which 15T sprocket(of which bike model) you fitted in your Avenger.
I too wish to follow your lead and make my cruising more relaxed.

Thank You Guys. Will surely do it.

Also while riding, it seems like Honda Shine ( Riding in 4th and 5th Gear and still feeling that you need to have further gears to reduce the bike's stiffness), however as engine is new, seems I will have to wait for first service.

I went for a 40 KM ride and did feel a bit tired as the sitting posture is good but it puts all the load on your back. For sure need to get seats modified. Will follow Golden Cat's Seat modification as well as will add two studds boxes.

Also have seen alot of discussion on oiling and all, so anyone can give exact requirements such as Motul engine oil 5100 and then chain oil dispenser etc.

    Congrats on your new bike!

I have installed a Studds-branded hard case on one side of my 220 Street. Right after installation it I tested the seat to make sure it was not going to be uncomfortable for any pillion riders, but it's perfectly fine, especially if they sit with one leg on either side. No bad reports from anyone yet.

While your bike is under warranty stick with Bajaj's oils and servicing schedule and like Golden Cat said only after some 10k try semi synthetic oils like the 5100 15w50. I'm at 15k and using Motul and it seems quite alright to me. I haven't personally tried the fully synthetic 7100 yet but I've been told that it betters the acceleration and feels harsher than the 5100.

Having an automatic lube kit is okay but not essential. In my experience thoroughly cleaning the chain once a month and using any chain lube spray is fine. If you get the bike washed and waxed every month/300-400km and lube it up well then it will only get better over time.

    Happy riding!

    hi,
    congrats for new avenger.
Installing side boxes on both sides is possible and some of members have done that, No issues for pillion.

For oil, do not experiment with motul till 10K reading.
Use motul chain spray or Rolon chain spray

I have read almost all posts on this thread on n Avenger Street and Cruise versions. I never came across anyone talking about heating problem. When did you change engine oil last time and how many KMs you did since then ? When did you change/clean air-filter last time ?

Can anyone put more light on this ?
