Bajaj should offer FI & Dual channel ABS as options atleast on Avenger 220.

However, I have a query about this avenger 220 street

An older colleague of mine bought a new avenger 220 street 3 months back. He got into accident recently due to front tire slip.
Yesterday he told me that he will sell the bike for 80k. I saw the bike at night, yesterday. There is a small dent on the fuel tank. And the handle bar is bent. I rode it for 1 km.. and found the rear brakes are very bad. Also, it looks like applying the front breaks will make the bike skid. Might be me, as I am 5ft2 and this is the first time I rode this type of bike.

    My requirements are:

    1. I will use the bike for long distance riding only (weekly drive of 60-120 km.) Speed will be 60-90 kmph. Any user who has owned the bike for such long? Also what would be the actual mileage of the bike, I had the old 220 original( 2012) the bike under strict maintenance ( meaning complete compliance to the manual, service manual, changing parts as required and a good mechanic) gave around 35 kmpl.

    2. Bike must be reliable. Atleast 10 years? (can't go buying another bike for atleast 10 years or more).I still have my Pulsar classic, the engine will go for 10 years or more with proper maintenance the only problems may be the cosmetics. Bajaj seems to change colors body parts often.

    3. Comfortable. I recently got severe lower back pain which is the main reason I want to buy a cruiser. Will it be good for that?
(I can't feel anything below waist when I ride glamour for 30 minutes constant, even my .... Goes numb lol)please consult your doctor on this, the reason why I sold off the avenger was that I used to get pain on my tail bone.

    4. Maintenance cost must be low. As I will have 2 bikes to maintain. the avenger will demand around 3000 6000 INR for proper maintenance, considering that it is a temperamental bike, cost cutting may be disastrous.

    5. Vibrations are a gift from bajaj, even at low speeds. Will the vibrations be extreme if ridden at 80/90kmph. Again it depends on the maintenance, but from personal experience, my left leg foot peg was viby

    6. As I would own 2 bikes, should I change the engine oil/maintenance every three months, even if I don't ride the bike for say 2 months? How much does engine oil/maintenance every 3 month cost. Oil change depends on usage and manufacture recommendations. Total cost as you would require one liter of oil for the avenger plus 200 ml when you open it fully, it would be 600-900 per bottle.

    7. Can the dent on the tank be repaired. How much would it cost? please refer to the local mechanics in your area, should be depending on the damage/repainting 2000-4000

    And finally,
What do you guys say, should I buy the bike? Personally I would avoid accident bikes
if so, How much should I pay for that bike? I would minus the repair costs from the priced asked.

    Sorry for such long post.

And thank you to all xbhpians for your support.

Ps- will post some pictures as soon as I get them.

    Sorry about the questions.
    I am using a brand named 4S.
NightEye is very good but expensive in Indian markets. Ali press is reliable but takes very long to deliver, like almost a month.

I advise against buy generic brands from Amazon etc. Unless they have great reviews.

Below are the specifications that you should be interested in
    Socket : H4
    Power : 35-50Watt or W (you'll find 36 or 40w mostly).
    Voltage : 9-12v
    Temperature : 5500-7000 Kelvin or K (you'll find 6500k mostly, as it's daylight color)
Intensity : 3000Lumens or LM (don't buy anything below 2500Lumens). Usually the LED bulbs come in pairs, so one pair will have somewhat 6000-8000lumens in total.

Stay away from cheap Chinese ones or the ones that use boosters or capacitors, ballasts. A good quality LED bulb should be plug and play in our avenger 220.
Decent ones cost about 1000-1500/bulb. If you're buying anything below 500-600rs...it will be pathetic.

I'll post some links, online you'll only find them in pair so goto local shop for single unit.....

    Hello everyone,
My street 220 just turned one,
I was accelerating it on neutral on stand and it was giving out a bit of white fumes.
My tenant owns the exact same bike and he said that my piston was in early stages of damage.
I want the problem gone please tell me what to do? Im scared...
P.s. rode out a 100 kms in mussouri mountain trails yesterday. (1st and 2nd gear mostly and a bit tough on acceleration)

Found these stucked inside the grab handle of my Avenger 150. Where were they originally. I found one after pressure washing (one month ago) from left aide of grab handle, while 2nd one was found today from RHS of grab handle. Is this going to give any problem.

Can Avenger 150 will handle it. I am considering it.

    Plug and play.
Most led headlamps are 35-40w, whereas stock bulbs or halogens are typically 55-65w. So expect anywhere between 30-40% less load on the battery/alternator.
    LED>>>Halogen exception in dense fog.
