    Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler

I face this problem of the bike waving left and right after hitting a pothole (mumbai roads), was reading the intial few pages and people had the same problem and solution mentiones was changing the cone set.
My question is what is a cone set??? I googled but I could not get an answer to my question
Can somebody explain/answer my question ??

If my carb is set to lean mixture, why my bike return bad FE (43KMPL) But good pickup.
I also think my carb has to retune for good FE, but hiw I tune it properly.
I tried it from local mechanic & honda ASC but all waist. They say a 150cc bike will return max of 40kmpl then what u want .
Honda ASC style of setting the AFR mixture is simple open the afr screw to 1.75 rotation in engine stop condition.

Please buddy . Help me retune my carburettor.

Ravi, Agree that in morning it will not be fully charged after this much gap. (I do use my multimeter to test it). And when its not charged the display goes blank and there is noticeable fluctuation in the neutral indicator. I always use choke to start it in morning, and I have to use it even in evening . (8.30 hrs later the non stop morning ride of ~25Km to my workplace).

PS: I replaced my stock battery last week as it was not getting charged (even after ~50ks round trip daily). Don't know if it was wise, I still went with stock specifications.
Exide again (XPTZ5) for INR 1350, but it has kept me away from this problem for now.

Also thinking of implementing a charging ckt for it, Who knows might come handy some day.

Yes the manual says exactly 1400.
but It vibrates too much on idling so I keep it a bit lower.
Didn't observe any problem till now.

At times it proves to be a herculean task to push start it. (I have tried 3rd gear 8km clutch release trick, works well if you are riding daily but not after long gaps)
Once I had to push my bike all the way to Honda service center and I learned a new trick (for me), they put my bike on center stand , put it in 5th gear, pulled the choke and rotated the rear wheel. And it worked well.

So far with my experience of >1.5 years with this machine, I liked it, Its like wine (I don't drink ). When I am not riding it I do think of replacing it with higher cc ones, but once I ride it all those thoughts vanishes. I love the nature of this engine (relatively eager/one can rip it without any problem and it will still be smooth), its riding position is also not a problem with me, I found its high speed stability better than relatively heavier bikes (like hunk), the looks grow with time ( I even prefer it over FZs, dazzler's semi fairing and leaner aerodynamic tank gives clues of a tourer to me complimented by matching mid/high end power) and one can always enjoy the exclusivity factor. (not many know if any such bike ever came to market ) plus a consistent FE figure of (50 -55)/kml

If it was with FI and DC electricals I would have planed to keep it for ever.
Waiting for better range of products in 250 -400cc in our markets till then this will be my ride.
How do you know your battery is fully charged? If the battery is fully charged, and you have a starting problem, then you should suspect the starter motor or the relay. If you are not using the bike for weeks, then your battery is not getting charged, and most probably your battery would be dead soon.

Test the battery voltage in the morning, and then test the voltage at idling and at higher rpms. If the battery voltage is above 13 in the morning, then your bike should start with electric start (you should use choke for cold engine).

It have idle rpm of 1200 when engine is hot .when I leave it in neutral gear for some 10-15 seconds, it tends to stop the engine as idling goes down to 700-800 rpm.when I throttle it again it settle at around 1200 rpm but after some moment it goes again to die.its behave only when its sufficient hot .not in cold condition.

Idle rpm should be at 1400 when the engine is warm. Set it at 1400 or 1500 when the engine is warm, and this way the idle rpm stays at 1000 to 1100 rpm when the engine is cold. Engine dies when the rpm goes below 1000 rpm.

can a 4 Valve setup for Dazzler is possible.with some moderate modifications
as 4 valve setup is smooth for acceleration.

I think there is tight inlet valve .which can cause unstable idleing.
Or vacume leakage between carb & head.
How can I check vacuum leakage.

    I think that's normal.
May be needs to do something with your carburetor settings. (I am no expert )

I have done 134 @ 9800 rpm 5th gear (speedo indicated) after which it hits the rev limiter, so this is the max speed which dazzler can do in stock condition.

Now I need to change the stock foot peg position to rear sets one. For this which one's should I go for - hh hunks or karizma zma rear set foot pegs?(complete assembly viz brake/gear shifter lever etc). Will it be a direct fit? or else what modifications I need to do?
    Any inputs on this?
