Honda oil is not good for dazzler even more if u ride highways at high speeds , I realized this very early in 2011 shifted to motul 7100, till date the engine is butter smooth even after crossing 52000 kms i recomend this to everyone

Not much 32k only. It seems the honda oil was the culprit. it becomes like black water after approx 500kms. Now I am using Motul 3100 Gold/ 20w50.

Thanks for the revert. Guess my dazzler has to be in a running shape till a get a new bike.

Any idea if the drive shaft of Dazzler matches with anyother bike?

Any suggestions for the new bike?

I just revived my Dazzler. Installed a new cylinder-block kit ( Hero Xtreme ) as a direct fit. Total damage = approx 7000/- rupees.

I was in the same situation in February of this year. My bike's engine had seized.
I had to either repair the bike or buy a new one.
Since I did not have enough money at that time, I repaired my bike for a cost of ₹12583.

But now, after 3 months I regret my decision. My bike isn't upto the mark after the repairs. It still has issues.
I have decided to sell my bike and buy RTR 200 for good.

I would suggest you to sell your bike if you have enough money to buy and maintain new bike.

Repair Dazzler or Buy new bike??? totally confused

Dear All,

To start off, I own a 2011 dazzler in broken state, clocked 50k.

Situation 1: Get my dazzler repaired
Dazzler condition:
1. Drive shaft and clutch plates wore out.
2. Engine drinks half of the oil in about 1000km, black smoke observed (should i change the kit or go in for a rebore)- Mechanic suggesting against it.
3. Front Tyre worn out.
4. If i keep this bike, have to replace seat (aches after 1 hr drive in city), Head light Assy (Vibrates a lot), chain sprocket kit (old one is welded to shaft due to wear)
5. Other small parts like timing chain, seals etc

Honda Estimate: 12k (1,2, sprocket)
Mechanic Estimate: 10k (1,2,4,5)



Situation 2: Buy new bike

Buy a new bike under 1lakh to 1.3 lakh which is
comfortable for a person of 6 feet,
mostly rides in city (700- 1000KM a month),
has decent amount of power
My riding is a little spirited.

Please suggest.

After my engine got seized, for first 1000 kms I was supposed to ride sane. I.e less than 50 kms and no hard revving etc.
I did the same and got upto 55 kmpl fuel efficiency.

After 1000 kms, I started to ride as normal. I.e Rev hard, change gears at 5000 rpm etc.
Now I observe the fuel efficiency to be around 44 to 47 kmpl.

If yours is a similar story, then you don't have to worry.

I have a question. I have changed my piston and bore in my dazzler after engine oil leak.Should the mileage improve after this change or will it remain the same.
After I got both of them replaced the mileage improved to 52KMPL for the first 1000kms. And as advised by them, I later took the bike to them for valve adjustment. And from them I see a steady decline in my mileage and right now after 2 months the mileage is back to 42 as it was before the piston replacement.

Is this normal or should I be worried about it?

Yes, the oil I used was right as per manual.

Was the oil of the right grade? what I think is that the oil was less viscous and was not able to form a proper film causing it to enter the cylinder and burn with the fuelMy bike has run 27800 Kms and still returns 58-60 Kmpl

Hey guys, after reading issues related to oil burning in recent posts I thought I would share my story.

My dazzler is 5 years old and has clocked 46000kms plus.
My bike's engine got seized in January.

I had taken my bike on a trip from Bangalore to rameshwaram in January.
Before leaving I had got the bike serviced and also changed the oil to shell fully synthetic.

On my return journey, my bike stopped running at dindigal.
Local mechanics helped me n took me to a Honda showroom.
He opened the oil chamber n heavy smoke came out. Zero oil left.
My engine got seized was the answer.
(I was cruising constantly at 90 to 100 kmph in this trip. Some 50 kms before the engine got seized, the bike started making weird sound.)
The Honda guy filled new oil, the bike managed to start at high revs and would stay on only at high revs.
My bike was sent to Bangalore via train. I continued my journey back with 3 other bikes.

In Bangalore, the SVC took a week,
Replaced bore, crankshaft, piston, oil filter, timing chain, etc.
I was billed ₹12583/-

From past 7 months before my engine got seized, I had a drop in mileage.
I sometimes observed smoke.

Now I feel that my bore might have had a problem, and somehow oil was leaking into the cylinder n burning with the fuel.
I might be wrong but that's what I felt.

My bike is running fine now, giving me mileage somewhere between 44 to 55kmpl.

Thought of sharing it with you ppl.

Clutch Issue - Honda Dazzler

Hi,
I have a Honda Dazzler 5 years old. I recently had a clutch plate change 2 months back when I fried my clutch plates in high RPM(8-9).

And from then, I have the clutch issue when the bike is idle for sometime. When I take my bike after few hours of idle, pulling the clutch doesn't have any effect on gear.
I mostly leave the bike in gear and just pull the clutch and start. And now, if I pull the clutch the starter works but if I try to move the bike before starting, it doesn't. It is still locked in gear.

I have to change the gear to neutral if I want to move my bike. It feels like as if the clutch is not having any effect on gear. But, once I start the bike the problem is gone. The clutch behaves as it should. It will however start troubling again once I leave it for few hours.

And when I leave my bike overnight, in the morning I have to be more careful, when applying gear for the first time. The first gear shift feels like I am trying to put gear without clutch(get a sudden heavy sound) no matter what gear I left last night and then is again back to normal. My local mechanic says that the rubber inside the clutch might have been damaged along with the plates and gets hard during idle which is why I might have trouble when idle.

And I face real difficulty when giving my bike for service where I cannot show the problem to them since I have to ride my bike to the service centre. Can anybody explain me the reason I have the issue??

got a call from ASC today. Bore, Piston Ring and seating valve got damaged and needs to be replaced. They are suggesting to change all these three.

I had this doubt on my engine for sometime now. For the last few months, I was on the feel that I am filling up oil much earlier than usual, and the last 2 fills are really worse.

I think need to go with this. Any suggestions?
