Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
happy for dovi! he definitely earned this win.
pathetic decision by the donkeys responsible for not red flagging the Moto3 race.
they did nothing when FOUR riders went down because of oil and simply brought out friggin oil flags.
if the same thing happened in the MotoGP race today... it would have been red flagged right away.
some close calls for a lot of riders. pathetic decision making by the officials for sure.Last edited by xionite; 10-31-2016, 04:44 AM..

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
^^ Yes the Moto3 race was a bit terrifying to watch. Seeing so many riders going down. And no red flag. And finally they got the red out, when Herrera crashed all alone, without any danger on the track. What was RD smoking! Nonetheless, happy to see Mahindra back on the top step of the podium.
MotoGP was fantastic to watch. Iannone and Rossi fought like mad Italians! And probably cooked their tyres in the bargain, but Rossi had a big moment and backed off to take a second place, while Iannone tried pushing and crashed out. Age and experience still trumps youthful ignorance
Credit to Marquez that he got back on after his crash and completed the race. Even though he has already won the championship.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
^^RD was always a bit inconsistent when it comes to lower class category. Should have shown red flag, when four from the front pack lost the front in tandem. Their decision and timing to even show the red flag at the later part was more adhoc in nature.
Marc's effort was commendable. Guy has already won the championship, yet he overtakes 5 rider and finished 11th.
Congrats to the double moto2 champion zarco. Shown his class in wet sepang track
Finally big kudos to Dovi. Mr. Nice Guy of MotoGP, finally getting the much deserved win with Ducati.
Next year, probably the situation will return to normalcy and with 5 factory teams, it will be an interesting season. Already looking forward to the valencia test

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
KTM will be racing at the season finale round of MotoGP at Valencia with Finnish rider Mika Kallio.

Kallio has been the test and development rider for KTM in 2016. Prior to this he raced in Moto2 and even raced in MotoGP in 2009-10 onboard a Ducati. Kallio and KTM will be entering the Valencia round as a wildcard and will also be present for the test which happens on the tuesday after the race.
The Austrian manufacturer had earlier tested with the other manufacturers at the Austrian circuit during the summer break. The results at Valencia will not be a true reflection of where the bike stands, since Kallio hasn't raced competitively for over a year and not in the premier class for 6 years. KTM will be positive about their future though with current Yamaha Tech3 riders moving to KTM for 2017, with both being fast, young and experienced riders, who have worked well together in Tech3 and in the Suzuka 24 Hour endurance race. Yet it is unlikely that Pol Espargaro or Bradley Smith will be fast straight off , since KTM is the only manufacturer to employ a Steel Trellis Frame.

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
Anyone checked out this pic? All the riders are in the sequence of winning races. With Lorenzo the first to win a race this season (at Qatar) and Dovi the last to win a race (at Sepang).
Only Marquez is in the wrong place, he should be sandwiched between Lorenzo and Rossi
Qatar: Lorenzo
Argentina: Marquez
Austin: Marquez
Jerez: Rossi
Clearly none of the three riders love each other much

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
Spot on. Next season would be even far better, with all three in different factories with its own pros and cons. With Ianone in a less demanding suzuki with a very good corner speed and improved power over 2016 version.Originally posted by The Monk View Post

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
What a fantastic three races. Loved Moto3. Brad Binder truly showed why he is a champ and has the won by the maximum number of points by any rider in the first two classes.
Zarco put on a masterful display of first aggression with his fight with Morbidelli and then metronomic consistency, once he decided he had played around long enough, he put the hammer down and was gone. Interesting to see that Zarco gets a Privateer ride in MotoGP. While first runner up Luthi gets no ride in MotoGP. Number 3 in the champions Rins, gets a factory ride on a competitive Suzuki. While Lowes who has struggled in the latter half of the season gets a factory ride with Aprilia! Folger who finished 7th in the championship also gets a ride on board a Tech3 Yamaha! Either the MotoGP team managers see something we don't or they have made a mistake!
MotoGP once again showed how difficult it is to pass at Valencia, but not impossible. Lorenzo won the race from the very first corner! Iannone couldn't brake hard due to fatigue and allowed Rossi and Marquez to take him on the brakes, but the Ducati power was something special to watch. Marquez had to wait very many laps before he could make a move on Rossi and Iannone. A good race with some interesting battles up and down the field.
Tuesday brings on a brand new story, can't wait for 2017 now

Re: MotoGP 2016 Season - Updates!
Yeah, the Ducati power was very distinctly evident on the straights especially. But that also drove home the fact once again that only outright grunt doesn't win you much though it goes a long way keeping you upto the paces. Makes me even more proud of Honda(I'm a diehard fan
) . Once Marquez flitted past, he was untouchable, just like Lorenzo. Amazing race. The way the front guys were neck-n-neck going back and forth at the early laps set the pace quite well and kept excitement levels high all the way!

This is what David Emmett said.Originally posted by nirvaana View PostDon't understand though why is Ducati still running with wings
"To reduce the number of variables in the data, both Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo will be using a bike with winglets. That way, they can do back to back tests on GP16s and GP17s, and more easily understand the difference the new chassis makes. Removing the winglets would add confusion to the data, Dall'Igna said, making it more difficult to analyze.".
