Default MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates

We are finally done and dusted with the 2014 season. Congratulations to youngest ever double World Champion. He truly deserves this one more than the previous one. It was virtually over in the 1st 10 races. Who would have thought Marc would keep us entertained by falling at San Marino, Aragon, capturing the title at Japan and then getting a DNF at Philip Island, to keep the viewers hooked up, before finishing the season with record of 13 race wins. If this year Marquez had a target on his back, then in 2015, hes on top of the most wanted list of riders. People from various background and countries will be on the same track chasing the 2015 championship. Weve got multiple world champions, former world champions, Moto2 world champions and if thats not enough, well be getting riders from Moto3 and WSBK as well.

Vale, Jorge and Dani have been hot on Marcs tail all season. While Dani was the 1st one to beat Marc this season, Rossi and Jorge have beaten the Champ on more than one occasion.
With a returning Suzuki and Aprilia in 2015, the List of riders is as follows:
(Some rides are still to be announced)
    Factory
    No. Rider Country Team
    26. Dani Pedrosa ESP Repsol Honda Team (the most successful rider without a Championship)
    93. Marc Marquez ESP Repsol Honda Team (4 time and current World Champion)
    99. Jorge Lorenzo ESP Movistar Yamaha MotoGP (A double world champion)
    46. Valentino Rossi ITA Movistar Yamaha MotoGP (Nine time world champion)
    45. Scott Redding GBR Marc VDS Racing Honda (Rejoining his old team from Moto2)
    43. Jack Miller AUS CWM LCR Honda (Only rider in modern day racing to jump from Moto3 to MotoGP)
    35. Cal Crutchlow GBR CWM LCR Honda (A former Supersport Champion, has proved what he can do with a good bike, even sometimes with a bad one)
    38. Bradley Smith GBR Monster Yamaha Tech 3 (One of 2 British riders in the Championship)
    44. Pol Espargaro ESP Monster Yamaha Tech 3 (the 2013 Moto2 World Champion)
    4. Andrea Dovizioso ITA Ducati Team (Improving significanlty, it might take a win if lucky)
    29. Andrea Iannone ITA Ducati Team (has proved to be the fastest Ducati many times in 2014)
    9. Danilo Petrucci ITA Pramac Racing Ducati
    68. Yonny Hernandez COL Pramac Racing Ducati
    25. Maverick Vinales ESP Team Suzuki MotoGP (The 2013 Moto3 Champ, 4 wins and consistent podiums in 1st year of Moto2)
    41. Aleix Espargaro ESP Team Suzuki MotoGP (Top Open class rider of 2014)
    19. Alvaro Bautista ESP Factory Aprilia Gresini (former 125cc Champ Rejoining the team he won his only championship)

    Open class riders
    No. Rider Country Team
    63. Mike di Meglio FRA Avintia Racing Ducati
    8. Hector Barbera ESP Avintia Racing Ducati
    6. Stefan Bradl GER NGM Forward Racing Yamaha (Former 2011 Moto2 Champion)
    76. Loris Baz FRA NGM Forward Racing Yamaha (Former factory rider from Kawasaki WSBK)
    50. Eugene Laverty IRL Drive M7 Aspar Honda (2013 runner up in WSBK)
    69. Nicky Hayden USA Drive M7 Aspar Honda (The 2006 World Champion)
    17. Karel Abraham CZE Cardion AB Motoracing Honda

If the above mix doesnt make things interesting, weve got more.
Honda is bringing in the RC213V RS instead of the RSV1000.
Software Development Freeze July 2015 onwards.
Open factories like Ducati and Suzuki will continue to use and develop their own software but will contribute towards the development of the unified software.

2015 Testing starts tomorrow (10th November2014) in Valencia.

Glad to see this thread up so early. Can we get timings for the tests that will be happening in Valencia today? 2015 looks promising as usual.

Going by Suzuki's performance yesterday, I sincerely hope Aleix and Maverick have made the right decision and will be able to deliver lot more than Randy. The top speed deficit is worrying, hope they can do something about it before the next season starts.

3 blown up engines in a single race isn't good either.

Suzuki blew 2 of their 3 engines. de Puniet retired during the race due to gearbox issues.

After watching yesterday's race, can't wait for Ducati to sort out its issues and let the two Andreas become competitive again. Even though it lasted just a few corners it was a pleasure seeing Iannone fight Marquez before his tyre was destroyed. In the initial laps, Maniac Joe was lapping consistently at the same pace as the Aliens, that too with a busted arm, too bad he followed Lorenzo into the pits to swap bike or else he might have been in the Dovi-Cal scrap for 4th.

Waiting to see Maverick and Jack in MotoGP, hope the both of them do well in the premier class.

Yup gearbox failure. I meant reliability. Iannone could have added spice to the Ducati fight, however, it will be wrong to write off Cal yet. Remember, he was not on 14.2 and was giving Dovizioso good fight on a supposedly better machine.

Tyre management is also an art on these bikes. Rossi, Marc are the masters. On another note, did anyone notice resurgent Hector Barbara on Open Ducati? What a turn around for him after having trashed the kawasaki.

Petrucci too put in a good fight, he too will be closely watched next season on his Pramac Ducati.

Cal's LCR is a proper looker! Loads of pictures of all bikes on Twitter.
Suzuki GSXRR takes the top spot but, is in the bottom of the list in terms of performance. Heard that AEsp jumped on it and started riding at RdP's pace.

I agree, Iannone gave a good fight and holding back Rossi and Marc for 15 laps wasnt a joke!! Cal was impressive, and luckily didn't crash either :P!!

Iannone on a the factory Ducati next year would be a thing we have to see, honestly i root for the Italian riders more than the Spanish!!

Lately Barbara has been doing pretty good actually since the last 3-4 races and he seems to be more focused than before, hope he improves more next year!

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I hope the AesP didn't do a mistake by joining Suzuki in their comeback!! Alexis can be pretty strong rider on a factory bike, can't wait for him to see how he does!!!!

I'm just going through the pics online. I would to see the Ducatis and Suzukis soon upto pace. Would at least want them to compete in 5-8 spot. Aleix would definitly take Suzuki's 1st podium if the Suzuki is capable enough to stick to 5-8 rank in races.

Alex Marquez has been presented to ride the Championship winning Honda today at the Valencia circuit in response to his efforts for winning the championship. Though Honda still lost the constructors title in Moto3
