Wonderful race. VR gave his best, as expected.. JL did brilliantly on both qualifying session as well as the race day! Expected a lot from MM & DP, looks like MM didn't want to play any spoil sport but to keep the position tight. DP could have done better. All was well and was as expected. Love the way VR fought the way out.

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
oh man what a tremendous heart pounding race and a tremendous ride by lorenzo, totally held of the two hondas somehow and won the title with a very thoroughly convincing victory which was so important to remove any doubts from anyone's minds (in addition to the fact that he has 3 more wins over his nearest rival). yes he would have won it even if he was second but a victory of this type was needed for a convincing stamp. with this kind of lorenzo's ride and the high pace of the two repsols, even if VR had started from some normal grid position it would have been very very unlikely and difficult for him to arrive in front of lorenzo or even just one position behind him..
apparently this is only the third time in motogp history that a rider who was behind in points came through to win in the last race.
great ride by dani in the last part of the race, damn as if the tension between MM and JL all through the race was not enough, dani somehow ripped apart lap times in the last third of the race and added significantly to the heard beats of many people. great ride by MM too, came so close to passing lorenzo a few times which (thankfully) never happened. JL never seemed to leave enough space for MM to go through every time the latter came so close and MM already seemed like pushing over the limit a bunch of times.
rossi did all he could and a great ride by him as well. it was so evident that his speed, as well as the factory yamaha's power, was so much more than almost all the other riders/bikes that he passed it was like the others didnt even stand a chance to fight with him. in fact only aleix seemed to manage to fight with rossi for a few corners. anyway, rossi did all he could without seemingly a single mistake through all that traffic but unfortunately for him jorge was in another planet today.
pretty much the best or top two best race, and certainly the most tensed one, in this pretty much the greatest season ever in modern motogp history.
congrats to 99 for his 5th title, and thanks to 99 and 46 for giving us such a wonderful season full of on-track swinging back and forth between the two of them and also for providing us, along with 93 and 26, some movie type off-track drama :-D

motegi 2013. also a similar one once at mugello but i am forgetting the year. both times JL was too fast for MM who was already riding over the limit.
today he didnt make an attempt probably coz he couldnt because JL always seemed to closed the door on him anytime MM was a bit too close to do it.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 11-08-2015, 10:07 PM.

Did you watch the part where he was behind Pol Espargaro and he wasn't able to overtake him on straights even with his seamless transmission???Last edited by Braumabull; 11-08-2015, 10:38 PM.Ernest Hemingway

Again the gap between Rossi and Pedrosa kept on creeping up since he secured 4th place.Originally posted by Braumabull View PostDid you watch the part where he was behind Pol Espargaro and he wasn't able to overtake him on straights even with his seamless transmission???
What was the point of all the efforts he put to reach that point? repeating that mistake yet again, was it with Andrea DOVIZIOSO?
Was he praying inside helmet for Hondas to take down leading Yamaha?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Congratz to Jorge for his 5th title..but i'm surprised nobody observed MM's "Body guard" tactics...DP overtook MM and immediately he takes him back, yes..DP said he ran wide..but it's clear both the Honda's were faster than JL..especially last 5 laps. Knowing MM he didint try overtaking JL even once says a lot. Now before JL fans jump on me i honestly feel that in PI, mayb MM didnt mean to hold up Vale(maybe i'm wrong) but after Vale's Sepang outburst and race, it's clear that MM purposely didnt overtake JL today..honestly according to me it was 1 and 2 Honda today and the battle was between 2 yamaha's...

Time to take off your red-tinted visor, mate. Look at MM's racing right from his 125 days and then, at how he rode the race today. He was pootling around; was on his way to the market this afternoon. He didn't make a single move on Lorenzo although, he had the pace and didn't allow Pedrosa at the end as well. How dramatic that he fought off Pedrosa to retain 2nd but, didn't have enough to show his wheel to Lorenzo for 30 laps to take a victory!
I'm not taking anything away from Lorenzo. He was phenomenal all season and looked like a Zen this weekend.
Yes, I'm a VR fan but, ain't a fanatic.Last edited by Makky; 11-09-2015, 12:22 AM.

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
"Today everyone has seen their plan, this makes me sad and it's a very bad thing for our sport,” said Rossi. “I do not understand why a Honda rider allows Yamaha to win [the race]. I hope this behaviour in time turns against him.
“Lorenzo is a very good rider, it would be nice to battle on equal terms, but I think even he wouldn't be very happy to have won like this.
“I am sad that Marquez acted as bodyguard for Lorenzo. I had already said on Thursday, I was convinced that they would go to the end [with their plan], I was sure they would have conspired against me, as happened in football [Rossi has referred to the infamous so-called ‘Nordic fix’ match when Sweden and Denmark allegedly conspired to knock Italy out of Euro 2004].
“I don't know if Marquez protected Lorenzo because they are both Spanish, but it's sad he chose to be his bodyguard. Lorenzo has never done what Marquez did. But for his behaviour after Malaysia [when he attempted to join the court proceedings], he deserves to be treated like Marquez.
“I'm sad, a great opportunity has vanished and I did not deserve this.”
Just sad, sickening for the sport and people are still blind to all of this. Today it couldn't have been more obvious, MM SETTLING for second??? Absolutely no attack for the whole of 30 laps??? Just one consolation, when the lights go out on Qatar next year MM will be back to square one, ruthless and beating JL just like the previous years and there will be real racing once again!
And I could only laugh at MM's response:
"If I tried to be the bodyguard of Lorenzo, I will be five or six seconds behind," Marquez said. "I wouldn't take the risk to follow him.
"I'd stay five or 10 seconds behind and it would be easy. [But] my target was to give my 100% and to fight for the victory."Last edited by shelton_jh; 11-09-2015, 01:17 AM.Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Lorenzo rode really well today. He deserved this year's Championship.
Marquez was a surprise. For a guy with the biggest balls in the MotoGP paddock, he didn't make one single move for 30 whole laps.
Very unMarquez.
2016 will be a vicious season. It's going to get ugly.
I see VR coming back stronger and doing everything he can to mess up MMs attempts at being champ next year.
There's something seriously wrong when two Spanish riders are booed so loudly at Valencia.
