Wet races rarely ever make for an intriguing spectacle. Because it is more of a game of strategy and risk assessment, rather than just outright speed. As such it was an interesting race, it would have been better if it were dry though!

just watched the race belatedly...pretty good race overall. what kept it interesting (even though i knew the result) was constantly expecting the riders to crash out any moment what with all the sliding, particularly in the first half of the race when the track was very wet...well at least it wasn't a wet-dry type race, which usually sees the most crashes in a race.

great ride by MM and petrucci of course, also by dovi, and even lorenzo until he high-sided..seems he has regained some confidence in the wet.

terribly disappointing again, though never surprising, to hear the crowd cheer out of sheer joy when lorenzo high-sided...dude's mid air and no one knows what's gonna happen (injury-wise) when he lands and everyone's cheering already, wow...on a goddamn high-side, the most notorious type of a crash..that too in a race where their idol is himself absent due to an actual injury...how low class, hateful and uncivilised a behaviour..little to do with the race being in italy, everywher it's the same behaviour from most or very many of the rossi fans in the grandstands (and am sure also among most or very many of those watching in TV)...last race was the same with MM crashing out..but even more terrible when they're doing this on a high-side.

        Good Race!

Was Rooting for Petrucci. But Marc had him Covered. I think Petrucci had a moment as well while leading.
Surely was exciting race. I got to watch the race with 14 laps to go (I guess) . Didnt know Lorenzo crashed while leading.

Poor Zarco. Good to see him score atleast one point.

And Jab at Rossi fans..... Would respond some other time....

The worst part about the cheering at the sight of a crash is the venue of the race. It's called the Marco Simoncelli circuit, named after a rider who died in a crash on track and yet they can cheer a fallen rider.

I'm sure atleast half the crowd would be bike riders and for them to be cheering the highsides seems to be hard to understand. They may be better off watching WWE shows .

              :P

not rossi fans in general by default, but those fans who cheer instantaneously when some rival of rossi (mainly lorenzo and marc 99% of the times) crash including dangerous looking crashes...high side, low side, high speed encounter with a wall, in actual race or merely a practice session, whatever be the circumstance, these rossi-fans are instantly jumping out of joy when jlo or mm crash..these type of fans, however many in numbers, need to be shamed for their behaviour...this isnt football or something, racing bikes is a serious business and much more than "just a sport" that many often use as an excuse for their mob lynching type behaviour.

it just so happens seemingly that it's not a small minority of rossi fans, but very many of them, perhaps even most of them...

i know of a few reasonable and not-a-blind-bhakt but still longtime rossi fans in a small motogp related group in facebook who are in the minority (among the rossi fanbase) that are disgusted at this behaviour from other rossi fans, including apparently some real life friends of them, and are starting to distance themselves from even being regarded as "rossi-fans" anymore...they are europeans and attend several races each season, and have seen this shit in real time a bunch of times by now..according to them, it's pretty much everyone as far as they can see there who've come to support rossi in the grandstands...kids too, thanks to their parents' examples..that's why such a specially loud and distinct cheer whenever 99 or 93 crash...

try not to take it personally as a rossi fan in general, i hope/assume you and other rossi bhakts in this thread are mature enough to not be of this kind..

i love the way marc talking to his bike. Everyone says Marc is always riding on limits but i think he calculates the limit on friday and saturday so, On sunday he knows in to what extent he should push. Anyways im batting for vinales for the championship.

Sunday’s race at the San Marino Grand Prix saw yet another embarrassing weekend’s performance for Andrea Iannone on the factory Suzuki machine, spending most of the weekend on the bottom half of the time sheets before finally retiring out of Sunday’s race with arm pump, putting the muscle pain down to a too-tight rain jacket worn over his leathers. And with both factory and series bosses frustrated with the performance of the 2016 race winner so far this year, rumours continue to circulate the paddock that series bosses Dorna are making a concerted bid to lure reigning World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea onto the machine despite his Kawasaki contract. The proposed deal could potentially kill two birds with one stone for Dorna, too, by both making Suzuki more competitive in MotoGP and ending Rea’s domination of WSB and potentially brining the championship closer together again. However, the sticking point in any potential deal seems to be Suzuki, with the Japanese manufacturer so far

Sounds interesting but don't want to lose Iannone cuz he's something.

Vinales , Lorenzo and Rossi to start from front row .At this stage of his career to come back from such an injury in such a short period of time speaks volumes of Rossi and his passion for riding ,hats off ,though tomorrow's race could be tough to sustain it.Hoping for a good race tomorrow.

                          Another win for 93.
26 did pretty well. Didnt expect him to put up such a fight and be P2.

Marquez looks the favourite for the championship with Dovi slipping up.
Both Moto 2 and Moto 3 races had great last laps with Morbidelli and Mir coming up with fantastic moves to help their championship causes.

Fantastic 3 races. Hats off to Rossi for riding and finishing 5th just 23 days after breaking his leg.

Good to see Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the podium. Marquez seems to be tightening his hold on the title. Moto 3 title seems sealed now and Morbidelli also made a big bold statement to Luthi.

                              A good Sunday at Aragon!
