Dani has had a practice crash. Left leg was trapped underneath the bike as he slid into the gravel trap. Taken to the medical centre on a stretcher.
3 Fragment fracture to left collarbone. Sigh! There goes the rest of the season...

Rossi quickest off mark in Japan | The Official MotoGP Website
EDIT: Rossi Unplugged:-
In an interview with the Italian edition of monthly magazine GQ, Valentino Rossi has said that his rivals Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner “hate” him but that such animosity is “normal”.
“When you’re injured and are losing blood, those who are younger feel stronger and more able to devour you,” said Rossi. “It’s like a jungle, but I like it, it’s fine like that. They say: ‘Ah! Valentino! He’s been my hero since I was a kid’. But that’s not the truth, it’s all lies. I’m an obstacle, a rival, as Biaggi was for me. Let them say what they want, it only gives me pleasure.”
Rossi also added: “When two people are fighting for the same goal it’s normal they dislike one another.”

injury effectively ends Pedrosa's championship challenge
Dani Pedrosa's chances of snatching the 2010 MotoGP championship from under Jorge Lorenzo's nose suffered what could be a fatal blow at Motegi. The Repsol Honda rider crashed on his 3rd lap of the first session of free practice in Japan, falling unluckily and fracturing his collarbone in three places.
The crash happened under braking into Turn 9, the V corner before the hairpin. Pedrosa was slammed to the ground on his left shoulder, causing the fractured collarbone. Pedrosa was taken to the medical center, where x-rays revealed the triple fracture of his left collarbone. Pedrosa will need surgery to plate the collarbone, but it is still not clear whether the Spaniard will have the operation in Japan or back in Spain.
The injury effectively ends Pedrosa's championship challenge. The Repsol Honda rider is almost certain to miss the Japanese Grand Prix, allowing Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo to extend his 56-point lead. With three races back-to-back over the coming three weekends, there is a strong possibility that Pedrosa could be forced to miss the Motegi, Sepang and Phillip Island MotoGP rounds, which would make it impossible for Pedrosa to win the championship.

Injury notwithstanding I doubt Dani could stop Lorenzo from taking the title. Honda and Dani are my fav team rider combo but I think it was a bridge too far. But the good part is that Thomas Luthi had a similar injury earlier in the season and he rode with metal plates/pins. So I hope Dani is able to ride again this year.Originally posted by kingkong View PostCame here with the same news......Sad man.....I wanted a good title fight...

And what do I say about that interview with Rossi, well he's known to stir the pot. But he has not mentioned Dani here, perhaps he does not consider him a threat or mebbe Dani is not in that mould.
CheersAll riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...

Sad to read about Dani's crash. I wasn't able to keep a track of Free Practice due to work.
Surprised to see Rossi topping the charts
Incidentally couple of days back I was reading Crash.net's forums and there, somebody said:
"This would be a run away victory for Honda if Dani can keep the rubber side down."

He did it in Silverstone with his collarbone held up by bandages and he finished second i guess. He rode an ultimate race , I m one of his biggest fans now ! He just rides his heart out all the time , There are issues with his bike & with him but still his determination just rocks. He is going to get big for his talent.. Even if his nationality does nt get him any sponsors !Originally posted by hirenmistry View PostBut the good part is that Thomas Luthi had a similar injury earlier in the season and he rode with metal plates/pins. That is why I said "good title fight" and not "Dani winning the championship"...Originally posted by hirenmistry View PostInjury notwithstanding I doubt Dani could stop Lorenzo from taking the title.
, probability of Dani winning were low....
Dani hasn't done him no harm till now......infact right now Dani is working against Lorenzo....Rossi No.1 concern for time being....Originally posted by hirenmistry View PostAnd what do I say about that interview with Rossi, well he's known to stir the pot. You better get used to it.....Originally posted by sumit.pannalall View PostSurprised to see Rossi topping the charts

Rossi Rossi Rossi! That's one awesome news, dint expect him to be on top at all after knowing that he is not fully fit. I want to see him win some more races before he quits Yamaha. Cmon Rossi take a win here and silnce your critics that you are not done yet!
Very sad to know that Pedrosa is out of the race, wanted to see the cahmpionship to be alive till the last race. Hope he recovers soon.
Lorenzo deserves this year's Title and he is one hell of a racer. Next year he would be more strong and it's going to be very tough to stop him but there is going to be another strong force in play, you all know that - Ducati + Rossi
Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !
My best trip till date:http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...uke-390-a.html

Pedrosa to miss Motegi and Sepang......means the Championship is almost settled...(Lorenzo needs 20 points in next 2)
BAD way of settling championships this year......first Haslam in wsbk...now pedrosa...
Also It wasn't pedrosa's fault.....the throttle jammed(fly by wire though)......stayed open when he was braking for the corner.....

That sucks! Hopefully the operation is successful and he is able to comeback for the last 4 races. Fingers crossed.Originally posted by kingkong View PostPedrosa to miss Motegi and Sepang......means the Championship is almost settled...(Lorenzo needs 20 points in next 2)
