Lets see how many say this is an excuse and cowardly.
Only a naive would call it excuse or cowardly... everyone can see & figure out that his substandard performance is due to is injury than anything else!

Dropping off from the last two races will help him recover sooner to prepare for next year. I don't see this helping him in getting an early release from Yamaha.. I don't think this is the strategy either.

there is going to be endless debate and speculation on this.....big opportunity for people/riders to criticize Doc.......and they can't be made to shut up.....

the only way for the Doc would be to win again(after that operation...if not before )...remember when Stoner came back after that illness break of his.....

Correctly Said (the 250 days).....he isn't a good loser.....and after all his antics this year....I suddenly don't find himself liking him that much...(only as a person...still respected as a rider)....somehow I want pedrosa to win the championship now.(Surprise Surprise).....the guy is alike in victory and defeat...kinda professional about it.....also it would make the end of the season much interesting to watch...

      • If Rossi does decide to undergo the shoulder operation and skip the last 2 races, I don't think Yamaha will release him early to test the Ducati and they would be perfectly fair in doing so.

@kingkong: Dani's demeanor reminds me of a certain iceman, Kimi. Gracious in defeat and victory with nary a word of criticism being about anyone. I muchos likes!

All riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...

        • I seriously hope Pedrobot gets this year's championship. Seems to have dialled in his RCV, after struggling in the first part of the season...

And I think Lorenzo should get pipped maybe, thrice by Hayden. He'll probably chuck the M1 into one of the artificial lakes... That'll also make him lose an engine.
          You get the point?? :D

Rossi wouldn't be able to test it...even if allowed...Its a major operation with long recovery time.....

rightly said....but this demeanor is kinda love it or hate it.....some love it....some hate it....he was given the name Pedrobot for the same reason(pedrosa+robot)....media for one definitely hates it...gives them nothing to create a news/issue....I for one like this....but Dani boy still needs to prove himself in wheel to wheel battles before he is counted as one of the best....

yea... Lorenzo should have a DNF & Danny should win that race.

It'll be fun watching jLo throw a tantrum then.

                • ^^ Come on guys, give the kid a break. He has done a lot of hard work this year to come up to this point. Out of 13 races only one podium miss is commendable.
On second thoughts also if you look at yesterday he did the right things by not blocking Nicky straight away (which he could) otherwise he would have ended in gravel and reduced his lead by 20 instead of just 3 points.

On the flip side had he blocked Nicky and ended in gravel, we would have been making fun of him anyways of not being mature enough

I say he deserves this championship.

PS: although his one DNF would make rest of the races interesting. Well! that's just viewer point of view

absolutely. his decision to not close the door on nicky was sensible.

i din't say i don't want him to win the championship. i do.
                    he deserves it. kinda.

i said... it would be nice if he had one DNF.
                    then we'd see on-the-track-tantrums.
which would be a tantrum worth watching.

Didn't said he is a bad rider....or that he doesn't deserves the championship....its just that people are quite pissed off by his antics/post race dramas....so is the attitude towards him on many other forums....crash etc...

oh i would love that DNF..., just want the end of the championship to be interesting to watch......

@Xionite: also he should be beaten by Rossi/spies on last corner.....then it(the tantrum) would be bigger.......

                        ..
I understand what you guys are saying but as the way I see it there are only two things that one can do after winning a race. Either be like pedrobot/Stoner (do the victory lap and come back in the pits) or celebrate the way Rossi used to..
Lorenzo is doing the latter (sometimes in obnoxiously wannabe style) though whenever he does it we look at his celebrations and compare it with Rossi's.

As far as I remember Rossi also used to be criticized for his celebrations with people saying "This is a serious sport and the kid is making a mockery out of it".

PS: would love to see the tantrums again in the sport. It is too civilized now
After all we are Indians, we need some "tadka" (spice), it cannot be as simple/blunt as it seems to be now

                          YEAH!!!
i din't complain about his over the top celebration! it's fun to watch!

what i don't like... is seeing is him flinging his stuff in the garage after he doesn't get a desired result.

celebrate all you want Lorenzo. way over the top too.

was really funny wathing him run up and jump into that pond a few months ago.
he din't even think it thru.
someone had to actually jump him and help him back to shore.

Headlines: Lorenzo almost drowns during post race celebrations!!!

It's really boring watching a lone Jorge lead from the front.
In an entirely different Zip-code, as Steve Parrish would say.

So yea... Really hoping for that DNF.

Somehow people Don't take his celebrations like they take Rossi's, it all seems like to much of pretending/overacting, it feels like as if he is trying too hard to make a point...trying to beat/replace rossi off the track.....maybe trying to be somebody that he is really not....

I personally don't like it.....anyone should do what comes naturally to him.....Rossi has a certain kind of ease about him when he is doing all this....
