I personally called up MMSC office a few days ago and spoke to one fella.
My dream of doing track days got inflated when he said "racing suit a must"!!
Previously, I had contacted Cramster and was told that the racing suit would lower my pocket by 24,000 INR!!!
full racing suit as in 1piece leather suits or are 2piece racing suits allowed too.?

Nothing has been mentioned. But as far as i know the so called RULE book wants the 1 piece full suit.

            • guys just before two weeks I was at the track in MMSC and they have made it compulsory to wear the leather's suit.....it doesn't matter whether it is a single piece or two piece....but by two piece I dont mean the pants which is use for touring....

              • As far as I know... Relevant padding at the necessary areas is good enough... If you have a two piece suit, there should be zipper to attach the jacket and the pant together!!!

That is a two piece jacket and a pant with padding on the shoulders, elbows and possibly a hump at the back for the jacket.... and knee sliders and a shin protector in the pants is just fine.... There are good branded two piece suits in the market even today...

However, I will talk to the people concerned and get back to you with proper information !!!

: The so called rule book is made for safety purposes.... People who attended the Cali SBK racing school will definitely know the importance...

The race track to us bikers is like Mecca to Muslims... I request everyone to pay respect to the culture that is being implemented there and support safe riding and not make a mockery of it....

                Cheers !!!

Varun, I completely support your words. Leathers are a must for tracks!
Hence, I am keeping myself out for the same reason.

                  • MMSC themselves were offering Astars Octane suits at 20k or something a couple of months back. It was on their website. Otherwise, there are cheaper suits like Taichi.

are they still offering the suits for 20k? Is Taichi cheaper than 20K. becoz i heard both are costliest brand. or is 20K wrongly typed?

OT- I know this is not the right thread to discuss gear.. but even Cramster's One piece Leather suit starts @ 24k.

And I've been considering a suit as I am a Race track Wannabe.

Please let us know where I can find a good suit for a reasonable price.

A* dont come that cheap. Even for a used ones. The Taichi suits are costlier than A*.

The taichi is also comparatively lighter and cooler than A*s.

@ All-The requirement is a comlplete leather suit. No difference its is a single piece or two piece suit

Astars Octane costs 35 grand and Taichi(Japanese brand) is even more expensive at around 45 grand!

                              • Erm.. ok? I paid $800 for my Octane, and this was a non-offer price (almost full sticker price). On sale in the US, it was something like $700.

I saw the price listed in the MMSC website a few months ago, can't find it now.

As for Taichi vs. Astars, you need to compare apples to apples mate. The comparable suit from Taichi to the Octane is the GPX S206 which is about $750 (sticker price).
