    I second to that...
Lets imagine for a moment, what if all the 100c bikes are discontinued in India??? Consumers will be left with no choice but to buy 125cc++ bikes...

but thats not gonna happen, i've heard that suzuki is developing a 100cc bike... so back to ground zero.

The change has to occur in the mentality of the people who are buying the product in India, not the manufacturers. They cannot force a product down the throats of consumers who dont want them. An unbelievable majority of the population still wants mileage, low on road costs, they really dont care where the instrument cluster is placed on the bike. Trust me.
      Spot on..!

For the past many months, Suzuki is coming precariously close to Yamaha in terms of monthly sales, piping them at least once.
Considering that SMIL is barely a 3 year old manufacturer in India, its a great job.
Yamaha was in doldrums a couple of years back, struggling to find a place in the market. A change of top guard and a fresh thought process brought Yamaha to life. Its now that they have again shifted somewhat to 'volumes'.

Talking about whats new in this product?

What is new in any product which has been launched by HMSI since 2001? This fact gets gravity when we consider that 'Honda' was something aliening powerful before it was launched (at least in youth belonging to semi-urban and tier 3 cities). Now, all it has is not something out of the world.
BUT, it is almost around TVS for the slot of 3rd position, beating them at least once.

Suzuki is following Honda and gaining quite good success till now. Every manufacturer sets a target audience and that is what Suzuki is doing/has done till now. Moreover, they should have a higher priority of expanding their service base currently.

Hero Honda would go bankrupt, Munjal will file a suit against the banning authority with his wife's money and every stakeholder will come to streets...

I have even heard that Hero Honda is in process of developing a 75cc machine. So back-er to underground -1....

BTW is it allowed beyond 50cc...

You just sit on it and open the throttle in the direction you want to go.

Soon you are going fast enough, and when you want to stop, the Drum brakes will guarantee you wont.

And bingo, you hit your target at a great speed.

Come on..Its not that ugly! It looks decent enough from most of the angles and I kind of liked the alloys and hope they are strong enough!

I belive Suzuki's approach has been good here in launching a product in good time in a segment there is always chance of numbers and profits equally distributed. It does offers lots of goodies for the people who expect to have in bike in its segment.

Already known fact of relaiable Suzuki engines...What they seriously lack is The After Sales Support...which more pathetic than Yamaha which I observed.

A good surge in sales with help of this bike and added good going of 125 scooter Access...will only help Suzuki to have some inspiration of launching some R15/250R types bikes!

Suzuki has been serving both the low segment and high segment markets very well with their products....what they miss is the middle segment! Are you listening Suzuki? one 400cc for me please!

At the end..its WIRIWYG .... What is required is what you get!

                            Well said dude!!

He can aim the bike at the target ,applying the brakes is an option(with drum there's no harm in trying, to keep your conscience clean) .Then if he's not in a mood to commit "Kami kazi " he can bail out by jumping off the bike and experience the joy of seeing the scared look on the targets face on seeing such an ghastly looking front end and being stunned into immobility Then the satisfaction of seeing the target being hit!

With due respects to the SUZUKI's designers.Honestly, this is one of ugliest designs seen .It looks like they took inspiration from some insect like a cockroach or a grass hopper.I was never a fan of the original fiero's front-end either but one has to admit this takes the cake.

Sarcasm at its best!!! I was laughing loud enough for my next door neighbor to take me as Insane.

The point we were discussing here is perhaps not limited only to SMIPL but to the entire Bike Manufacturing units, barring the HDs, Ducatis etc.

Suzuki and Honda has pehaps the largest range of almost all types of bikes under the Sun. So how come, after 4 years of its independent existence in the Indian Market, they bring up a cosmetically changed 125 cc. Further, I understand that they want to cater to the masses and perhaps not to the classes, but I would love to see this Slingshot hitting the target. It would miss the AIM by a considerable distance.

I would have congratulated SMIPL if they would have come up with something like Stunner, which has now created a niche in the 125cc segment. It has loads of things that were earlier absent from the 125cc stable.C'mon mate, if Honda can do it, Suzuki should not be too behind. They all are Japs!!

I still am waiting to hear it from the horses mouth towards the USP of this bike, else it too will be one from the mill types.

Oh yes, that reminds me of how difficult was it for us to empty the stock of Suzuki Zeus we had with one dealership. It was a pain, when we were trying to push the bike to almost all kinds of inquiry, to an extent that one of the executive tried to pitch the bike to an elderly man who had come in to buy Access.

Though, I am not looking to change my bike in the near future, but I still would be interested to see what all options I have, anytime when it calls in for an Upgrade.
