Mahindra Mojo 300 likely to be launched in June

Source :- Mahindra Mojo 300 likely to be launched in June - News

First showcased as a prototype at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo, the production-ready version of the Mahindra Mojo 300 finally made its debut at the recent edition of the Indian Auto Expo in February 2014. This naked looking bike was expected to launch in 2013, but the launch delayed as Mahindra Two Wheelers' first innings wasn't quite a profitable one. Everything changed after the re-launch of the company's flagship commuter bike Centuro, which currently is drawing profits for the two-wheeler wing of Mahindra Group. While, the Centuro is already doing well, the company seems confident of Mojo's success.
The production-ready version of the Mojo 300 looks a little different from the concept showcased in 2012. However, the design largely remains unchanged. The front looks more practical with revised twin headlights. What is also interesting is the digital speedometer with analogue tachometre with a shift light and low fuel warning indicators.
The Mojo also gets radial brakes, USD forks and Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. Powering the bike is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine that mated to a 6-speed transmission, churns out a maximum power output of 27bhp.
The Mojo will be launched in June 2014 and pitted against the likes of Ninja 300 and the Duke 390.

The design of this bike is confusing I admit, but still in a weird way I do like the design of this bike.

That front tyre is pretty small in diameter relative to the huge headlight housed just above it that gives the feeling of a clown bike in circus. And that seat is set so low relative to tank that it seems like a sports bike tank from close up and just as you sit on it,your seating position is like as of a crusier bike.

I loved the tank and the headlights though.Big and muscular.

The only offset is the silencers. They are quite chubby for being dual silencers.I believe a single silencer could have done the job better than 2 silencers on this bike. The craze for dual silencers is quite over in these times.People do not even want silencers to be seen these days as seen on hx250r or rc390.

        Price Price Price?

        I pray for traction
        I can keep,but
        if I spin and begin
        to slide , please
        dear god, protect
        my sweet ride"- Amen

Bike in not available for public yet. The snaps are ones I snapped in Koksar while the test rider was putting it through the paces.

I am wondering , will it take 5 years for a bike to make it to production and hit the market ?? Are they handcrafting each one of them ?? :P

And how did they assume that a bike designed 5 years back will still be relevant now? I think they are just testing waters here and not serious though that's understandable since to be fair to them even Hero, Bajaj, etc are not out with any models yet in that category.

:-D who knows. May be we are going to get a fully customisable Mojo - in the lines of Hellcat and all. That said, it is their first 'big' bike.. perhaps they are waiting for market to evolve more.

IMHO Bajaj has 200NS which is a similar bike . Upcoming 375s as well.
Agree with you though - they should have launched it long back.. when we did not have this many choices. If they launch now, Mojo is just one in a pretty list of +200cc bikes. It won't stand out much like the originals P180\CBZ\R15\Duke did.

I guess the bike could have looked better with smaller twin headlamps...

Now the faired Pulsars have been launched as well. Will we ever see this bike in production?
There will be very few takers after the faired Pulsar is launched. The wait seems longer than Pakistan's victory over India in WC!
