Just checked out the CBR250R at a Honda showroom in Pimpri, called Sterling Honda.
The motorcycle looks like a scaled down VFR, and much better in the flesh than in photos.
Plastic quality, especially the engine fairing was a serious letdown for me personally, and I think that the two tone silver finish for the red and black motorcycles actually makes it look a little garish. It simply looks too glossy and I think a matt finish on the fairing would really have done wonders to the looks.
Weld joints looked unfinished on the trellis section on the frame and I would have definitely liked some more attention to detail by Honda.
The rest of the cycle parts, which personally is my biggest concern, appeared to be well built and looked sturdy enough for a Honda.
The R15, somehow feels better built than the CBR250R when it comes to overall build quality including that of the switch gear which look down market on a 1.5 Lakh plus motorcycle.
The clutch felt very light, almost like that of the Unicorn/Dazzler.
The CBR250R also felt smallish, echoing the same feelings I had during the launch of the R15. Could be just right for the average Indian frame though. I for one, feel that the CBR looks just the right size for a 250.
Gauging by the number of walkins for the bike, on a Saturday afternoon, It looks like Honda will have a winner on it's hands.
Cheers,
Jay

Saree gaurd Bolts and plate
Guys did u observe the the plate to which the Saree guard is attached,
even if the guard is removed it leaves a Void there.
Tat means a plate or something should be attached tere to cover it.

We have less options compared to other countries, even if it is almost manufactured in India.Originally posted by jayprashanth View PostJust checked out the CBR250R at a Honda showroom in Pimpri, called Sterling Honda.

There should be an option to remove that as well. But some one has to check and confirm.Originally posted by NaveenRk View PostGuys did u observe the the plate to which the Saree guard is attached,

What a day it has been ! Finally saw in flesh what I have been dreaming about for 8 months now !
It began with seeing Vijays post on xbhp that the bikes have arrived at Sapphire Honda at BTM layout. I decided to leave straight away and arrived there to find a lot of people crowded in the gate at the corner. Even before seeing the bike I had a big smile plastered in my face. There was Ajay with his full gear on, sudeep with the red jacket and vijay with a host of people there. Then I saw the bike.
It was surreal. Months of dreaming about the bike and finally i was seeing it in person. First impressions... it was HUGE ! I have never been on a big litre bike and for that matter never seen one... so the bike seemed huge in comparison to the other bikes I have seen. Also in dimensions it was slightly shorter and slightly longer than what I was expecting. It was definitely beefy to look at. Checked out the bike but did not find anything new. The saree guard still looked like a refrigerator tray.. the registration plate in the front looked out of place.... Then Vijay had a talk with the showroom guy and got him to show us the black cbr which was kept in the godown. On reaching there we found a guy there putting the finishing touches to the black cbr. He removed the back seat and checked out the space there.. was quite small... dont think it will hold a whole raincoat. The guy actually was taking it across to Dream Honda for display.
The funda was that sapphire Honda got the first lot of delivery and HMSI had lent it to all the other dealers so that even they can display the bikes.
The sound of the bike was in no way that of a blown up scooty. The sound was decent .. not very loud nor very deep like it was in the videos.
The guy drove away with the black cbr to whitefield.
Then I went to Haiku honda where I booked my bike to give them an earful for not letting me know the bikes have come. On reaching there I was surprised to have a bike on display. It was a red non abs version. the guy actually let me sit on it and check out the stance... It was slightly sporty and surprisingly light. i was actually expecting it to be much heavier. But the bike length seemed like it could give some trouble in the traffic.
And that was the end of an unexpectedly long day.
Only disappointment is having missed out on the rerun of the autocar review of cbr .Hope to catch it tomorrow !

My city Bhubaneswar has yet not been able to impress HMSI to send the display bikes. What to talk abouts my city when whole Orissa has only 3 dealers.
I am completely in muddy waters now to imagine my delivery date. Till that time, I would be only living my passion with you guys sharing all ur expeience with ceebe.

Your bike is way better than babes, only thing is that you need a proper vision to mull over this fact. :D
