As far as I know they were supposed to come and did test waters but were disappointed to see that they won't be able to sell too many units so for the moment they have shelved their plans for atleast an year.Last edited by MG; 09-23-2010, 12:01 PM.

They were expecting to sell more than that and hence the decision for the moment. But this was sometime back, not sure what's cooking in there right now.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Post@mg : can't they even sell a 100 units every year?

If they do come.. I would have no option but to sell off all my worldly possesions .... find a rich, stubborn and ugly girl to marry (for money ofcourse)... and/or loot a bank.
But... I want a bmw bike period.
difficult choice would be R1200GS or S1000RR... there is no way on earth I could afford both.sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

They can sell more bikes if they decide to make both the sides of the bike by the same design team.
No on a serious note, if they go symmetrical, they will increase their customers manifold.
For now, i am not a big fan of the punched in the eye look.

I think whatever they plan but they can have a tough time if their rates are not low as the new Trade Agreement where the duties of 100% on japanese bikes sold in india are been worked out to slash to 0 %, so this will bring the all honda and yamaha biggies at half the cost than what they are today.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostThey were expecting to sell more than that and hence the decision for the moment. So if there rates are gonna be higher then they will have a tough time, unless and only the multi millionares buy bikes from them.

Don't mean to be rude or anything.... but I had responded to such points sometime back.

Those who don't get the headlights.... it is plain simple.
Its Function Vs. Form.
With those headlights BMW says:
"I won't go for form instead of function ... just to make the bike pretty. I would make the best bike in the category even if I have to make it asymmetric. What the heck I WILL make it asymmetric so that the pretty boys hate it and BMW lovers love it more."
Yes it is the best:
YouTube - BMW S1000RR is king!
I just feel what BMW has to say... all I need now is the money.Last edited by killer_instinct; 09-24-2010, 11:26 AM.sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

I absolutely love the S1000RR, the looks have grown on me now!
The weird headlights are typical BMW & the fairing on both sides has the same shape only the vents are different, simply for better airflow and cooling depending on the different equipment placement on both sides...It's simply function over form... it looks brilliant & rides as good as anything else in the market today.
Recently motorcyclenews.com did a series of speed tests on S1000RR, Busa, ZZR1400 & Aprilia RSV4... and out of all the multiple runs for top speed it clearly had beaten every bike including Busa for top speed..
