yep it true the skyhigh rates of insurance in developed(stagnated) country's are absurd
but the price's of sbk in india +110%duties is absurd tooo bmw s1000rr(fully loaded) in usa is arnd 15000$=675000rs +110% 13-14 lac range but
here they say its 18 lac for which model onwards
if bmw india have sense they will import these bikes from cheapest plc(like bmw usa ) to india cus if they get it from germany then its 15000 euro=9.5 lac+110%=18-19 lac range.

When the iconic US motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson came to India in 2009, it created quite a buzz among bikers across the country.

Now it's the turn of BMW. The German carmaker will see the launch of BMW Motorrad, the carmaker's motocycle unit, open here in December, says The Economic Times.
The BMW bikes from the 'K' sports series (with four cylinder engines), the Enduro 'R' series and the superbike S1000 will sold here initially. All bikes will be assembled at the company's Berlin plant, however.
The BMW bikes will be available exclusively through three dealerships - Deutsche Motoren in Delhi, Navnit Motors in Mumbai (they are also dealers for Rolls Royce). Navnit will also distribute the super bikes in. Bikes are priced at Rs 18 lakh onwards.

So the old F650 has now been renamed the G650 and features the single cylinder Rotax 654 motor.
The New F650 & the F800 have the parallel twin motor, the F650 has a restricted motor from the F800.
