I have noticed a difference of 3-4 paise between pumps but not 26 paise ! Anyway,I don't have any receipt to raise an objection.
You did a very smart thing by getting a bill/receipt.

in your previous post you said u filled on april 30 for 69.14 ? The price was around 73 on april 30th and only reduced on May 1st.
And the current RSP as listed on HPCL site for Hyderabad is 68.92

Retail Selling Prices of Petrol & Diesel

Next time you visit the hpcl bunk get a computerised bill from the dispenser and compare with the prices listed in the above link

And the current prices for BPCL is 68.91 (so you saved a few paise) - check out bpcl's pricing at the below link (click on Click here to view Retail Selling Price of MS / HSD in Indian cities.) - MS-motor spirit i.e. regular petrol.

        Update on the BPCL case:
They bunk owner and supervisor have been calling me the past two days to come and meet them and they were even ready to come to my house to have a 'discussion'. I was able to go and meet them (the supervisor since the owner had left) at 7pm yesterday.
The supervisor kept saying that they had informed the pump attendant to charge the revised price by 'manually' calculating the cost (using a calculator), but the pump attendant cheated the customers to pocket the extra money. I dint buy this argument and told them that it was due to the failure of the management to reconfigure the dispenser that gave the attendant a chance to cheat the customers. And i have also pointed out to him that never in my life have i seen this bunk or any bunk put up a notice on paper stuck to the dispenser showing the revised price and the attendants calculating manually the price.
They told me they have taken action against the attendant and he will lose his job etc.. so I told them clearly that I will only hold the management responsible and not the pump attendant and he must not be penalized. I have asked them to give me that in writing to which they hesitated, so I called up the Area Manager and spoke to him. He was clear and told me that they will not penalize the attendant but only take action against the owner if they don't respond in 7 days and asked me not to give them anything in writing until they apologize and settle the matter. So i later sent them an email with a brief on my discussion and told them that i do not want any money but just an apology in writing from the bunk and bpcl and that this will not be repeated in future.

        Will wait and watch...

btw.. they offered me a can of coke and water during the meeting, and i drank it don't say i took a bribe.. it was the heat here in Hyderabad you see

what did doing this get me (apart from the can of coke) - my friend/collegue's shine was not running well and making squeaking noise and kept shutting down (he rides 25km one way to work so a total of 50km + his brother uses it during the day time for another 20km).. so i took a ride and it was pulling initially 0-10kmph but after that it was like struggling to move and i had to constantly wring the throttle. so i asked him 'when did u change oil' and he was like 'i dont know' - so i removed the dipstick and guess what - NO READING, so we went out to get oil at 2am and guess were we went.. to this bpcl bunk, and the other person (who is incharge of recalibrating the meters) who was along with the supervisor earlier in the evening was there and we got an oil change done at 2am .. MAK 4T red bottle/yellow color oil.. 900ml Rs239, and oh yes after the oil change i showed him the smoke from the exhaust..
btw, that shine is screwed (but still runs) its done 60k odd kms and i have adviced him to get it rebored or replace the block piston along with a complete engine overhaul.

the matter with bpcl has been closed after they apologized to me. had another round of 'discussions' yesterday, this time with the owner of the bunk (this time had maaza and water )
so they (the owner along with another partner who owns a stake in the bunk) were talking to me on various topics (only thing they dint talk about was the India-Pak/china issues) - you know the 'settlement' talks and maskafying etc.. - the first thing i mentioned to them was 'I am not looking for any compensation money' and they had a good laugh

Then they thanked me and as I was leaving, I wanted to fill up petrol so headed to the dispenser and asked them to fill up for 150rs and handed over a 500rs note.. then the owner comes up from behind and asks 'sir whats the tank capacity', and i told him '6 litres' and he told the attendant 'Tank full karo' ... I was like 'no no its ok' and he was like 'give back the money and fill up the tank'.. I told him 'its alright and he takes the money from the attendant and shoves it in my pocket' and refused to take money for the 150rs petrol i filled lol..

The one thing you must remember is, be firm and put your foot down and keep everything in writing when you face such issues as a consumer. today almost every product/service has a 'customer service' dept with an email to which you can write to begin with. Do NOT be rude, but be firm and present your case properly. You do not have to fight for everyone, but at least for yourself. If everyone starts fighting for themselves, then at least you can be satisfied that your case was delt with properly, and maybe the 'customer service' levels will improve... the one thing that we (especially the consumer) should get rid off is the 'chalta hai' attitude.
