Sir ,are you brainwashed to the core or just simply copy pasted from Facebook. .?
No offense but this is right time to ripe off the benefits of low international oil prices for deterring fiscal imbalance and pay off some non planned expenditure receipts . You see ,it has been 16₹ reduction and still NONE of the transport facilities have become even a penny cheap .. NONE of the services related to transport sector has passed on the dividends to common people ,you can sport a 200,250 or more cc bike bit crib on 56.** ₹ petrol prices ..?
Remember 1/3rd of India still lives in abundant poverty, 55% still don't own a vehicle and rest who do ,don't care about the blown out pistons, petrol eating engines and never think of replacing some seals and bores. .!!(xbhp don't even represent 1% of vehicle owners ) .
What I'm saying is ,this increased cess &surcharge will help education, infrastructure and aid affirmative actions of state policy to thrive. And I know real benefit reaches to only 15% of targeted Indians ,but this time , even if it reachs atleast one more ,I'll be very happy to pay 56.xx ,ride my 200ns and retrieve only 30km/lit mileage.

You are right, even if the fuel prices would have been slashed to half, it would have been direct benefit to the transport people and plus they wouldn reduce the prices of say milk and vegetables to that extent. Very Informative, changed my angle of thinking. Even i was the one to think that way about Modi and party ppl earning.

In an open market or decontrolled market we must get used to hikes too as we are so comfortable with dip.

the government is just fooling ppl, crude oil prices have fallen from approx. 100$ per barrel to approx. 50$ i.e. crude oil prices have become half in last one year, so accordingly we should also get petrol at approx. half the price as compared to that of last year.

this government is looting public in broad daylight and nobody says anything.

Hold on. Did they not increase excise duty by 4 rupees/litre to stabilize GDP when the prices fell and avoided all the profit of lowered crude prices from being passed onto consumer? So why did they increase the price instead of not cutting back on that 4 rupees? Are they going to keep raising excise in the future and devoid us from the benefits?

They may use that method if global oil prices rise up by a given margin. The same margin as it was decreased by. Apparently, 3rs is not that margin i guess! The govt has to roll back those costs if there is a future increase of 2-3rs or more. If it doesn't do that a second time, and allows a total of 5rs or more increase in price(including today's hike), then its obvious that we are the loosers... We have to just wait and watch..
