I remeber reading one of Rajiv Bajaj's interview, where he mentioned that he walked up to Yamaha stall in Delhi auto expo.. and told them you guys are remembered for fast & sexy bikes.. not economical ones.. why are you trying to produce fuel efficient 100cc bikes? so true.. even today.. R15 is the only bike that is truly Yamaha.. FZ is just a show piece appeals to style conscious, Yamaha loving guys.
Exactly..!!
Yamaha's brand image is associated with Power and Performance.. as long as they will stay true to their brand image, they have every chance of success. Trying to do something which goes against its brand DNA only confuses the common public.
Why does the FZ has to leave someone behind to prove something?? Especially when it looks so good.Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostIts a show piece which will leave higher cubed Motorcycles on a twisty set of road thanks to its impeccable dynamics.

agreed that FZ is a good machine for corners.. what I meant was it doesn't have the Yamaha DNA completely.. it's sexy.. but not fast enough for an Yamaha.Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostIts a show piece which will leave higher cubed Motorcycles on a twisty set of road thanks to its impeccable dynamics.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

Its as fast as an air-cooled 150 should be or is it not? And Motorcycle being sexy...Originally posted by vrugonnab View Postagreed that FZ is a good machine for corners.. what I meant was it doesn't have the Yamaha DNA completely.. it's sexy.. but not fast enough for an Yamaha.
I don't think you bought/buy or would buy a Motorcycle because it looks good.Originally posted by payeng View PostWhy does the FZ has to leave someone behind to prove something?? Especially when it looks so good.
I do get your POV though

motorcycling is not always about speed.riding sensibly within speed is the main objective...FZ has the perfect mix of comfort, stability, weight distribution & LOOKS that others crave to die for..So why always thinking about speed??when You can glide in the street withOriginally posted by sheelpriye View PostIts as fast as an air-cooled 150 should be or is it not? Yes.. Its as fast as an air-cooled 150 could be, not should be .. but not as fast as an Yamaha air-cooled 150 should be.. that's the point I'm making.. just look at R15.. we know that literally there is no comparision. I would have appreciated FZ a lot only if it had the same 4-valve engine detuned just enough to outclass the 150cc competition.. In summary.. FZ is not unique when compared to it's competition..Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostIts as fast as an air-cooled 150 should be or is it not? And Motorcycle being sexy...

I don't mean to take anything away from FZ for what it is.. it's only that it doesn't truly represent Yamaha.. where as R15 does just that.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

There is no other 150LC 4 valve Motorcycle to compare up against R15.
The name Yamaha wouldn't add wings to a Motorcycle. But its dynamic ability is far superior than what the competition can churn up and here it is truly Yamaha, the same can be said about its braking. (I think by your standards)
(Honda already has wings

I am not too much into any manufacturers in case you are wondering, no not at allOriginally posted by vrugonnab View Postcan't help it if you are too much into Yamaha, that you can't take anything but praise on their bikes!!(obviously your standards).
I buy a product from a particular manufacturer (not just Motorcycles) because I like their product and not the brand/manufacturer.
As far as commenting about standards go, I mean to say the standards which Yamaha has set in your mind/heart but I am sure you meant otherwise. I was praising FZ as its a good Motorcycle (barring FE) IMO.

i've done the test drives with trhe bikes of my friends, now sz is the star in our place. 135 LS is lill better on the looks. thats allOriginally posted by payeng View PostReally? When did you last ride the SZ-R and P135LS..??
Even the FZ would struggle at 100+ kmph speeds compared to the P135LS.
There is one: Hero Honda Achiever with front disc + alloys + self start
YAMAHAAAAAAAA
