  • Ha Ha, I told months ago the engine would be the same, nice cosmetic upgrade, except the mud guard is too long. Wander if that swing arm can be retrofitted???
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

    • Though i may be wrong but i am feeling this launch is just a strategy by yamaha as some people used to complain that it has skinny tyres who dint knew how they perform so they bought 220 and now cbr 250 is there in market, so to fill the gap between yamaha has launched this with fatter tyres as people wanted same engine so the old engine doesnt phase out as if that happens than people will loose trust on yamaha again.

And again as they say increased top end that one can see if test ride report is shown comparision with 220 and cbr 250.

This are just my view points.

      • Pricing seems a bit off for me. I'd rather get a 2nd hand 1st gen R15 and then put on a Daytona kit

A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

All we wanted, is a bike designed proportionally well on both ends.. Moreover the power output remains the same (+ or - 0.5 BHP) and this is just a cosmetic upgrade.
I never expected it to be -0.5 Bhp (Due to the 5Kgs weight increase)

KTM Duke is my next quest....

            • Disappointed like most of the members here

First and foremost I think yamaha gave what most of the customers wanted i.e Redesigned rear ! But I felt yamaha not only should have taken their feedback(customers) but also act according to the market ! I feel they have failed in that !

But my question to all the yammy officials .. does it take ages to launch cosmetic upgrades ? as the engines specs remain the same except for the low torque end !

And my second question is when isYamaha India opening up with the markets for 250 cc's when have you planned to break the 150cc barrier ?

IMO if these bike's sell in hot numbers it should be based on the looks !
I think FE would drastically drop with increase in weight , low torque end and fatter rubber !

For me I would prefer to choose the old r15 rather than this new one !

              • i did post earlier that there is a restriction on the maximum power output in India for a given cc of a bike. this is acceptable, and i think they wouldve improved the lower end or tweaked the ECU to take the additional drag of the fatter tyres.

Or they have shot themselves in the foot, and gone the FZ way ( no offense to FZ owners ), all show, and mediocre go.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

                - KTM Duke 200
                - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

                • Difference in specs

                  Hi guys,

The differences I see in the spec sheet:

                  1. Torque now shows 15 Nm @ 7500rpm from 14.4 Nm earlier

                  2. Wheelbase is up from 1290mm to 1345mm

                  3. Seat height up from 790mm to 800mm

                  4. Primary/secondary reduction ratio is now 3.042/3.133 from 3.042/3.000

                  5. Obviously the tyres and tail. (did anyone notice the rear tyre is 130/70
