dude no disrespect but i would anyday prefer a ZMA than a ZMR ... forget about the waiting time, delivey or spares thing ..

same here. i would anyday prefer the ZMA-R over the ZMR, and this new force silver colour (white aswell to some extent) is making me drool.
      Lots to do still...

      • About ZMR i feel HH should think about its weight(159 kgs) its fairing(looks Fatty) and its Power(only 17 horses at price arround 1 lakh )

looks are subjective but i'll anyday prefer Honda's PGM-FI over a carb bike(other goodies such as tubeless tires, rear disc & few more are just add-ons)..there's nothing in ZMA which attracts me over ZMR(i don't know about others may be you guys can through some light on those points) though i like ZMA as well..

i had ridden both bikes for a considerable period & riding ZMR please me more..

Well the goodies are fine , but this shud have been added to ZMA rather than creating ZMR (with the lost fairing IMO), and there you had one of the best bikes ( well it still is) and yes the FI part is real true ...

              • I don't understand HH logic of keeping both ZMA and ZMR in the market, they should have discontinued zma as it is eating the sales of zmr.

                • All of you who say they prefer ZMR over ZMR, either have no knowledge about bikes or have never ridden a ZMR. Have you seen the bike in person, yes in pics it looks odd but in real it certainly doesn't. Also it has way more features than the ZMA. Its people like you who cry for new updated version and when you actually get one, you want to stick to the old one? Then finally end up blaming the company. Remember it seems very easy to say that Hero Honda should have not launched ZMR and given all features to ZMA itself, but people most of them would not buy the ZMA then, because its still an old bike, whereas the ZMR has a distinctive new style, which grows on you after time.

                  • Wait a minute isnt ZMA dead? We only get ZMA-R and the ZMR now?

ZMA-R is this new thing with the belly is a carbbed 223cc mill
                    and
ZMR is the weirdly bodied 223cc mill with FI and stuff..

So why are we crying again on the ugrade? its just a refresh on the old ZMAR, atleast this time they arent giving it a jazzy name like ZMA plus etc!

I have ridden both, and I prefer a ZMA-R over ZMR. Remove the weird fairing on ZMR and redesign it with half fairing, then I will buy the ZMR. A fall on ZMR is very costly which will not be liked by any biker. The full fairing is not doing any good except for weird look and weight.

Though the ZMA-R is old, it looks are killer and it does not feel outdated. A ZMA-R with FI engine, slightly bumped up power, rear wide tyre, tubeless tyres, redesigned console, clipons, rear GRS shocks definitely kills the ZMR. I will grab one right away if it is launched.

What ever your wanting in the ZMA-R is already there on the ZMR. The ZMA-R is a excellent bike but the ZMR just makes the ZMA-R better.

                        1) ZMA-R excellent engine, ZMR addition of FI makes it better
                        2) ZMA-R best tourer, ZMR addition of clip-ons make it better
                        3) ZMR has undoubtedly the best instrumentation in any Indian bike.

Anyways there is no sense in arguing here, because you have to understand that you think it looks killer and not outdated but 90% of the people feel otherwise, so many of my friends dont even consider ZMA-R because it was born in 2003 and not much has been updated, the ZMR is a real update to the ZMA-R. Also the fairing has its advantages too, other than the looks (which are subjetive).

Chill buddy! I never said ZMR is a bad bike or featureless. If you give me ZMR and ZMA-R to go for a tour, I would take ZMR. But, I would like to own ZMA and not ZMR. Hope you get this right now.

A redesigned ZMR without the full fairing and better looks and a lesser price tag will appeal to more sections of the people and would become a successful model (sale in good numbers). The expenses of maintenance will be lesser for a ZMA (or ZMA-kind) than ZMR (or ZMR-kind).

Because this is a refreshed Karizma-R, we are just wishing that HH gives some features of the ZMR to ZMA-R.

it seems like you are giving more importance to looks between ZMA & ZMR-R which is subjective ..ZMR's fairing isn't very costly & is strong enough which ZMR owners know very well..i've changed fairing of my ZMR & it din't cost me much & i maintain its fairing as much as i maintain my other semi-faired bike(cbf-stunner) so its not hard on maintainance side as well..
another plus point of ZMR apart from its goodies & fresh look is that its more fuel efficient then ZMA(ZMR - 40-45kmpl, ZMA-R - 30-35kmpl) which is a considerable difference of 10kmpl & when fuel pricing is getting higher & higher day by day, it feels light on your pocket..

diff in fuel efficiency is 5-6 kms/ litre n 4 day one hav to pay 20k more...
i don care about digi console n other things..
main diff between the 2 is fuel efficiency and tubeless tires...
look wise zma is much more proportionate then zmr...
