The GW250 is a Bking design toned down to tuck in a quarter litre engine in its chassis.........hence the styling may not be to everyone's liking but would look very radical in flesh, just like the Suzuki Bking.

However, styling is not the only concern, real concern is the performance, which really needs to be tuned for 2-3 more Bhp from a twin engine.

180Kgs! 26bhp is little lame compared to the 32bhp from ninja.

26 Ps from a twin cylinder engine sounds ok, if not very exciting.

By from the point of view of styling, the GW250 has got no character. It's confused like the Mahindra Mojo (Ok maybe not as confused but confused nevertheless).

But in India even bad style will sell (there are may 2 & 4 Wheeler examples) as there are guys who either do not have an aesthetic sense or maybe the value for money + reliability of the product outweighs the ugly looks.

Suzuki engines like Honda engines have always been very good. I expect the same for this one too. So the GW250 could have a chance in India if priced attractively. Anything above 1.5 lakh on road (the "full faired" CBR250R is already at 1.5 lakhs ex-showroom) according to me is Harakiri.

Styling does matter a LOT: Give the same engine of the GW250 a body styled like the Ducati Street Fighter / MV Augusta Brutale or the 2011 Kawasaki Z1000. It will easily command a premium just because of its good looks, even without a "full fairing" (like the Yamaha FZ16).

the design seems incomplete..... the designer was getting good salary from Suzuki, so the front seems quiet competitive..... later Honda provided double salary and the designer left Suzuki and joined Honda..... rest we have Honda CBR250, and Suzuki ended up with GW250 .....
the power seems to be okay okay..... let's wait for its launch and its test ride.....
till then expecting something spicy from Bajaj..... only 2 months for April.....

This inline twin is defiantly tuned down, they will have to pump it to atleast 30bhp to make this baby cream the market... I am sure if this can do 30 BHP, even honda will have hard time keeping up with the sales.

I dont know why.. but looking at the bike side on makes me feel like I am looking at Shri Laaloo Yadav's Side-locks.. . Design of the bike is a turn off for sure. But for the "Performance bike starved" Indian public.. If it makes 25+Ps.. the design would'nt matter much. Also given the fact there wont be any bookings for the CBR250R till November (Sum1 told me ). This bike can easily keep on selling for a premium even if it is priced at 1.6/1.8 lac even without the Legendary / Proverbial "Full Fairing". As for me.. Neither this nor the CBR excites me as of now. My Next upgrade has to be 400cc-500cc+ . I dont see the sense in a 20% power upgrade over my existing ride... I could get that by getting it Joel'ed for a lot lot less .
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Considering that currently we have NO 250cc in India barring the 3lacs+ Ninja 250, any decently priced reliable 250 will be welcome IMHO! Suzuki is definitely capable of delivering on the reliability front too.

IMHO, I Think GW 250 is a very 'Suzuki' Bike . . . it bring the bandit 250 style and design, then combined with a few details of currently GSR characteristic, cmiiw

Forgetting about looks and aesthetics, Gw250 seems to be most practical tourer in 250 segment (Considering Ninja, CBR and others).

                          This is my personal opinion.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

I second nox2505's opinion. No full-fairing bullshit to worry to death about protecting and preserving. Though it could've been more minimalistic....say dropping the indicator tank flaps and putting round headlamps instead of that ugly one which reminds you of dazzler.

Aesthetically, honda wins over this butt ugly and very confused animal. I suppose it will probably look better in person than picture. I wish this one had a good looking exhaust, 5 spoke alloys and better tank design. + front forks look too puny for this gorilla of a bike. But such compromise must probably add up to cost reduction and perhaps a cheaper price tag than honda.

Id rather wait for suzuki's reply to performance 150 cc's than this.

Why is the wheelbase so long?

Most important factor for this Suzuki to be a success, even a 28bhp@8500 rpms would make this bike a gifted one.

It will then make even more power in that range than the Hyosung GT250R.(Vtwin 250)

I don't know why Honda and Suzuki are not making these relatively bigger ones rev happy.

Okay the Honda engine maybe stressed with one cylinder in order to be rev happy and it is destined to be a sports tourer.

But Suzuki can unleash more from their Twin,it can make more peak power and redline at 9500 rpm easily.
I agree that a naked street bike needs not to be a peaky and rev happy one but atleast it can make good bhp along with enviable torque too at lower revs.
Being a multicylinder bike it would make that tuning easier.

The bike has good potential if it's launched here. I hope it is not detuned for our market and being a twin-cylinder one should expect it to be north of 25PS. The price too should be somewhere near 1.5 lakhs, if it has to make a stronger appeal to the potential customers.
