Frankly speaking If i'd have to choose between a fz and a p150 i'd choose Fz but admist all this why are you trying to undermine p150. It seriously is a great bike and gives a serious fight against fz. It actually is better than fz in some departments and for some those are the things that matter.....
Its all about perspective.

Its all about perspective.

Coz, P150 is the bike to beat in the market.. so it's common whenever a new 150cc bike is released it's compared with P150 and they try to tell you where it scores on P150 and why the other model is better than P150.

Discussion is going OT.

The title of this thread is about Yamaha still facing issues in India. The attention seems to have "mis"-directed towards the P150..!!

Give the P150 its due and lets come back to the topic of the thread.

Really?? This reminds me of the daily soaps of the same old saas bahu story. Hello the front end was purposefully made soft to get a much smoother ride & better handling characteristics. It was not made to be stiffer.
BTW FYI the pulsar is the bike on which you get most problems reported. Dont trust me then check the xbhp.

Ok do one thing. take two healthy (read fat) persons & put them on both these bikes. Then see which one struggles more. Otherwise try to ride both the bikes in the city traffic in the 5th gear & at speeds of 25-30kmph. Then see who wins & who smokes whom. Do try before replying.

FYI the RTR Fi is having the rear disc which costs in excess of 75k.

So who told you that the fz is meant for taking uncles & all?? Its targeted towards youth. Talk about SZ when it comes to taking elderly people.

. No matter how good & how easily you can handle the bike its impractical. No matter that its tubeless tires can save you from walking on lonely roads a lot of times its impractical. No matter how good grip its wider tyre can provide you especially in rains its still impractical. May its ride be more refined & fun which makes it even more impractical . Such bike should never be sold.

In a single line about profitability:
Think of Yamaha dealerships 5 years before, and think of them now. Look at the change!
Are you saying that they are not selling as much - well may be!
Are you saying that they are not profitable - Definitely no!

Can you think of ANY other auto manufacturer which has had a turnaround like that?
Even if Yamaha makes a 49CC scooter and sell them for 5000rs -They would not be industry leaders overnight! Its a journey! So comparing market share with limited products is almost BS!

Food for thought:
If Yamaha makes a CBRisque product and price it 10K more - Would you buy it?
If any other manufacturer TVS, Bajaj, HH also make a CBRisque product and price it 10K more too. Which one would you buy?

(PS: Dont give us the Indianess crap please)

The same question minus the R15, FZ could\would have got a different answer!!!

Earlier the news/scoop was that they were testing an Imported 250cc engine in the existing chasis.

Same engine bore'd out.

YAMAHA may redesign the chasis to give the bike some fresh dose.

I dont think YAMAHA would intend FZ to compete against CBR at all.Thats where the R15 would come in.ideally a 250cc FZ should produce 25bhp and the R250 around 30.anyway lets wait and see!

they have a 250cc engine in Thailand,it would be great if that was plonked to the current chassis and then face-lifted...would keep the price really low!

one premium 150cc bikes.. and 3 other 150cc bikes with variants of each.. two 125cc bikes.. and a 100 cc bike, that's not a limited product line-up.. they have covered pretty much the volume part of market for motorcycles.. I wouldn't say they have turned around yet.. they have produced R-15 & FZ-16, which have re-ignited the Yamaha spark in the market.. I think still they have to go a long way to sustain that.

You mean the R15, FZ and the Gladiator? Coz I dont think the others were available right from the begining of the year. They are more recently launched versions.

but it looks like they haven't got the game right in 100 cc segment.. may be they can bring back rx-100 as 4 stroke with performance figures like that of twister and good pricing.. see if that works!!
