Checked out the bikes at the Pune showroom yesterday evening. The bikes look nice and the showroom had three colors on display, namely Red-Orange, Black and the Red one. A white one was standing outside the showroom, was probably ready for delivery. The Black-Orange combo looks hot and does the Red one. But the white one takes the cake! I found the quality to be good and the paint finish is really awesome. The tank on the GT is huge and the riding stance is pretty aggressive. Did not get a chance to fire up the engine, so I will reserve my opinion regarding engine vibes till I get a test ride. Yes, I will be getting a test ride as promised by the executive. They will be arranging a similar event again to offer test rides to interested people.

People who have been cribbing about the bike, would just like to say that "Itna paisa mein itnaich milenga" For the price, its a good bike (I haven't seen other SBK's upclose nor have had the privilege to ride one). This one's for the average guy who cannot afford the super expensive litre class bikes(though people who can afford the litre class can also buy them). Just like a lot of people opt for the P220 as that is the best VFM bike money can buy but then there are people who have more money and go in for R15, ZMR, Ninja, etc. I feel the GT650 is a VFM bike in the segment. If you are willing to pay more just buy a better bike. No point cribbing and spoiling the party for the prospective buyers.

Also, the salesman at the showroom was very friendly and the moment I told him I was a part of a motorcycling forum, he was like we will arrange for a TR soon for you. He took my contact details too.

Btw, I saw an R1 rider enter the showroom with me. He also came to see the bikes And the ST7 is HUGE. If the R15 is a mini version of the R1, I'd say the avenger is a mini version of the ST7 Its that BIG!

As I said earlier. I might go for the Hyosung GT650R if nothing exciting comes in 1-2 years.
The big bike feel and the leaned position is quite enticing!
Lets hope servicing and quality is not a problem.

One question to all who saw the beast upclose ..

how about silencer ? .. means does it have any cover to protect ppl from the heat generated ?? .. like most indian bikes have some kind of plastic or metal piece on top of silencer ..so that pillon and other ppl can't get hurt ..if they touch it accidentally ..

Hi nagoo.The black cover on the exhaust is the heat shield.

Thanks mate... i saw a steel exhaust on GT250R .. i guess when it launches here it will come with heat shield too ..
in anycase .. i might upgrade to either GT250R or GT650R by next year end .. i already made up my mind .. no matter which other bikes comes at wt price .. in my view there is no match for GT series in terms VFM , style and pose value
its more of obsession

Plz mail me the pics of orange/black GT at [email protected], i am considering this color . One more thing i noticed that white color has a kind of sparkling effect to it . I have heard that orange/black color and white are the only two metallic colors in GT , rest are Solid color , If you take a closer look at these metallic colors you feel find that they are better in terms of paint quality as compared to solid colors.
Waiting for high res pics of orange/black GT and I will try to take high res pics of white GT on my next visit to showroom.
I guess the time has come to stop dreaming about Ninja650R launch and Book a metallic GT.

Yes, the white shade is a metallic paint unlike the solid which i was thinking it was. Looks really good with black chasis and engine and that sparkling effect looks good.

Anyone has pics of that white pelican - white/black combo? Am unsure of how it would look though i prefer it the full white way , save the money on dual tone colors and plonk in a after market slip on.

Hi guys i have also booked a gt650r, ruby red, i ll be getting my delivery in the first week of june.

You ppl are talking about vibes, i had a gt250 . It was just a great machine. Vibes were ignorable because after 6000 rpm it juz goes the vibes smoothens gradually.

Nice to find you upgrade,would test ride yours when we meet again.

So for how much did you sell your black Comet250 ????
