UPDATED: Hyosung GT650R(4.75lac ex )and ST7 launch (5.69)h
Got a call from Garware motors today. They informed me that the new GT650 is getting released on 14th of this month and invited me to the showroom on the day.
If the difference in naked and faired version is only 40000 rupees, then why would anyone want to go for the naked one? A person spending over 4 lakhs on a bike should be able to shell out those extra 40000 in order to give that "cool" look to the bike unless he's a diehard naked bike fan.
I think Hyosung should keep the price difference higher than 40k.
Actually, those 40,000 can get you another Indian bike for commuting. Or a second hand P220 maybe...
And secondly, you won't believe but we actually have a lot of naked styling fans in India. And thirdly, naked has its own practicality value. I mean, its less suspectable to tampering, attention grabbing, accidental damages and their repair costs, etc.
Hyosung: So far so good. But there might be a problem- now Kawasaki might come with Er 6n for Rs. 40,000 lesser than N650R... Then what's Hyosung gonna do?
This is like playing Chess, first move Hyosung, second Kawasaki, third Hyosung, fourth...?
I read somewhere that three Hyosung bikes, GT250R (naked and full fairing) and a 400cc naked bike going to be launched in 2012??? How far is it true???
Hyosung doesn't have a 400cc in its product portfolio... The three bikes could be the Naked 650 and the 250 faired and naked...

The news is very much correct. The naked version is due for launch next week(unless there is some last minute changes) and will be priced at 40-50k lesser than the faired version.
The pune showroom guys told me that the difference will be ~40K only...

I doubt the naked 650 would be priced that high. They will obviously want to drop prices to give their bikes a VFM tag when compared to the exellent and competitvely priced N650.
