So as per the above dyno chart.. you will never ever use it beyond 45bhp.. fair enough. Somebody like me can feel like going post 6k RPMs in lower gears too.. but I guess that you have the restraint of a Monk and you will NEVER do it. But that said.. even the aforementioned 3lac quarter litre moped in question does the same 170-180 on highways with far lesser vibes for 2 lac less.. then why waste the extra 2.5 lacs? Why not invest in the N250R instead?

And regarding leaning at 3 digit speeds.. It seems you are unable to do it. but how can that be a merit of the bike? It is still a demerit for someone who has the skill to do it. I may not have ridden the bike.. but if somebody says it vibrates more than their existing RTRs and Pulsars.. I would think thrice(maybe more than thrice too) before investing 5+ lacs on it.

The fact that it is the ONLY bike in the 250-800 segment in India does not automatically make it the best bike to buy. It is your money... spend wisely.

P.S.: Have YOU ridden the bike?
i NEVER said i wont take it above 6k revs. But when crusing at 180ish speeds and accelerating to ton in 5secs i wont care the vibes at all. My eyes will be fixed on road and my mind will be busy trying to keep me alive.

Your post is making it sound like this bike is like riding a electric hammer. It wont vibe that much.

And are u really comparing riding experience of a 250 to a 650? Come on, ur joking right?

If u really wanna lean hard at 200km/hr, powerwheelie and wanna cruise vibe-free at 200+ speeds why not shell out 8L more and go for a CBR 1000RR? That rocket wont even vibe at 300km/hr.. Honest! Or u can also spend 3L more and get a Ducati Monster? what say?

I visited the showroom today... I just loved the bike... the finishing is a bit questionable... But the quality of parts is quite good... I revved the bike till 7k, the vibrations were there but people graduating from rtr's and pulsars will feel as if they have moved from an apartment to a penthouse... Just bigger but the same feel ... Jokes aside it feels nice... I have had the chance to ride an R6 and a 1000rr... I dont compare the quality but compared to the price to vibes ratio the vibes are very justified... Again I could only rev it on a stand still... all I can say is my bank account is gonna work overtime over the next few months to achieve the required balance... My next mistress has been finalised...

Vibes were ok till 4... noticable between 4 - 7... Beyond that I cant say...

@Antz.bin: That was quite an information Antz.bin. Thanks for that.

However, the thing which is noticeable is; the torque curve is quite linear throughout the gears (if I am comprehending it correctly). Can you get these figures for Ninja 250 as well??

That would be of great help to a potential buyer..

@pp180: Also check, "Kitna deti hai?":-)

How much money does Bajaj paid you , just kidding .

I would say that we should wait till a full ownership experience comes from GT650R owners.
and for Sub 5 lac sportsbike even if other brand start taking CKD route they won't be able to provide there 600CC bikes below or on par with GT650R price,so there is always that price advantage with GT650.

I might take a TD of GT coming sunday and try to check the vibe issue closely, any more things you guys want me check (Don't kill me if i missed the TD).

I dont think you will have to rev it above 6k revs while touring. In top gear it will easily do 100+ on below 6k revs and i dont think u will be in a condition to think about vibes when cruising above 180km/hr . Ur mind will be focused on more important things at those speeds.

That autocar journo was complaining about this bike being hard to corner. But how many can actully lean it at 3 digit speeds? Even above 100 it should be easier to corner than something like Pulsar or ZMR.

And about vibes in ducati.. cough! cough cough!

Hey friend! I've ridden a 1198 s once. That too for a very short period of time. However, vibrations are there at lower RPM but once you reach 100 on speedo or beyond; it's gone.

Please let me know if you have any different opinion. I would love to know facts about Dukes
