Though i back you on the point that racing a bike till 6000rpm in standstill can lead to vibrations but i dont agree with you on ducati aspect. have u ridden a ducati?

all the people here who think Vibes are one of the biggest problem in GT, I think they should never go for Ducatis or in that case any V-Twins. Get the facts right , dont forget these are 650cc bikes not the normal bikes of our country which we have been riding since past so many years.
Hyosung has done a good job by getting a 650cc bike in our market, why couldnt it be done by any other Company. And now its time to compliment it. First take a Test Ride of the bike and then start criticizing or analyzing. Reving upto 6000rpm on the stands can make any bike to vibrate.

This is 650 guys lets grow up and mature the trend has been set in our market, thanks to Hyosung

@All: For those who feel that the power output is low compared to International GT650R, it might be due to two reasons..

1. Fuel Quality.. People are bound to take the GT on a long tour and if they end up getting only low quality fuel, it'll screw the engine badly and they can't just take their bike back on their shoulders to the next big pump.. And, neither would Garware want that kind of negative publicity..

2. Fuel Economy.. According to Autocar India's review, the GT manages 20kmpl in the city and 24kmpl on the highway.. That is 50MPG in city and 60MPG on the highway(taking UK GALLON for calculation).. I doubt the International GTs would give this good a FE figure..

3. Engine.. The Engine is actually quite good, mainly because its based on the Suzuki SV650, which as far as history has shown is a fuss free unit..

MY GRIPE - If they were gonna detune the engine to give 10bhp lower, they could've increased the acceleration a little bit by fiddling with the sprockets and making the overall gearing shorter.. That way, it would at least be a faster accelerating bike, which would mean more real world usability especially during touring, when one wouldn't have to shift down a cog to get instant response..

Anyways, if you want to improve its power output, there's an option.. I don't know if the GT has been de-tuned by just ECU settings or with some mechanical changes( highly unlikely).. If its restricted by the ECU, then it shouldn't be a problem.. You can take it to Joel and get it tuned back to International Specs.. Although I don't know if it will affect warranty.. Legally, there would be no problems since no mechanical change has occurred to the bike, and besides, no cops would stop a big bike fearing the rider to be a politico or industrialist's family member..

If that is true and vibrations are reduced by 30-40 % from standstill then GT650R is in for me.

One more real important point came in my mind.
I guess for ppl who know that in near future they will upgrade to proper 600-1000 cc i4 bikes, GT650R is the best bet. It's has that sporty riding position. If we are riding Ninja 650R for next 2-3 year then i don't think we would be able to cope up with extreme riding postion we get in full blown super sports bike.We might not like that riding position after getting used to the Upright comfortable stance on Ninja650.
And i guess most of the guys opting for such big bikes would be using them for weekend rides or short rides in between .So that sport riding position would not pose any problem.

Let's see what happens when I see Ninja in flesh.

revving hard in neutral at standstill... will produce more vibes than when it's on the move.

so it's not exactly a fair assessment...
coz the actual vibes u'd feel when you're riding the bike will be less prominent.

P.S: trust me brother i seriously doubt if anyone has ridden the GT more than me (apart from Sunny) and the reviews i share are as a biker and not as an employee

Have been trying to make that point and it is not just the vibes guys, look at the overall ride quality. See how the bike rides overall, see if she is able ton entice you, see if you are getting a value for money...dnt judge a bike just because gives vibrations that too considering that she is a twin

kindly also consider that standing bike would anyday vibrate more than in motion as when the bike moves the suspension and shoch absorbers come in action and absorb considerable amount of those

no one cud have put it better, this is the bike you get for 5L, tell me if you get a better DEAL anywhere. Bike is not bad at all, for the kinda price it is available at, and considering that it is a 1st hand legal bike, i do not see a flaw anywhere.

EVERYONE: Try understanding the deal you are getting, we cannot get the best bike in the world at 5L. What we are getting is a good deal and a wise idea to invest 5L in a bike.

well said. People expect r6 level performance from a bike thats half the price it. come on guys appreciate the the efforts taken by garware. A twin cylinder is bound to produce vibrations. There are cons of each and every bike, people accuse the cbr1000rr of being boring and lacking 'SOUL'? , they say the r1 has the worst performance amongst the liter bike, 600's are too focused and that they are highly impractical. But here you have a bike thats a good compromise between performance, usability and still has a decent price tag. I think its the best bike to ready yourself for a future upgrade to a bigger bike. maximum bang for your bucks.

The GT650R definitely pulls off the show in 650cc class of bikes....
I couldnt take the test ride since there was no bike avaliable for it!!!>.
I had the option of firing the bike and revving it hard....
Iam sorry but the vibrations are awful and really really a turn off...the bike does sound perfect but the vibrations and moving panels kinda makes the mood go green.....
Well i had a word with the person named Sumit....he said the bike is a CKD and is assembled in Garware Manufacturing plant in Wai (near Mahabaleshwar)...Well guys I did feel the wait to take a look at the 650R of Japs which is soon going to be launched....the Koreans are good, definately good but the Indian touch in assembly is sorta spoiling the feel!!!!

At times i did feel m revving a 650cc Pulsar which has a little bit of fairing vibrations!!!!
The pick up and top end would be perfect since its a V-Twin....
In all this i dint get a clue why was the bloke out there comparing the Ninja 250R V-Twin with the GT650R V-Twin......at times he even said the word Karizma when it came to overall length!!!! My gosh why did i use the word Karizma....

This is my personal view...please dont make it an issue or fuss about the bike or anything!!!!

No other manufacturer has gone through the trouble of releasing an affordable (relative to the bigger bikes) 600 cc bike. And a litre class bike is expensive for a middle class Indian enthusiast. Its like what someone said on the CBR thread, the problem is not with the bike, its with the expectation levels that people have from non-commuter bikes.

First we complain that we want a big bike at a moderate price ,
Somebody comes out with it.. Happy..
Now we complain that it has this missing and thats missing..
And gives you vibes as complementary.

Come on cant expect a Honda..ish in 5L V twin.
a V twin made by any company is prone to Vibes .. WHich is by design inheritence and nothing to do with Hysoung.

As of quality of the parts , are they falling off or cracking ?
Does the zma have amazing plastics? ARent we living with it? This is defintely better than that , But may not be the best.

After all everything comes at a price.

more over .. Garware can at-least try to manufacture small parts for the bike .. like all the body parts .. and some other parts which are not difficult one

The test ride was taken on a red black CBU bike so the assembling part goes off the talk...

The quality is better than the one offered by Indian manufactures.
