All V twins have vibes compared to inline but there are ways to keep minimal vibes to reach rider.
Ninja 650R is a parallel twin so hopefully vibes are lesser than a v-twin and also in there 2009 model they are done some work to reduce the vibes (or not to reach the rider)

OT : how is a parallel engine configuration different from inline engines and
Which is the cheapest inline 4 we can get in India .

Diya Garware Ibanez says that she will look into the matter of "vibration" is more of PR stuff.
Even the Ninja 650R has a fair bit of vibes. You cannot totally rule out vibration from a Twin Cylinder bike unless its a inline4.

If you didnt feel the vibes then I feel your review is a very poor one. Or you rode some other bike not the GT650

We told this to Mrs. Diya Garware-Ibanez. And she assured us that this matter is looked in into and they are trying to find a solution for that.

But the equation completely changes for anything less than 800cc, each and every part needs to pass through ARAI process and since Indian regulation are more stringent than most of the other countries one see those cuts in bhp
hmmm... but it still sounds like a very dumb thing to do... *face palm*
Is there anyway to retune it to original standards after we get the bike...?

Hi rossi. The video does show a top speed of 235 kmph which may not be accurate. As you also need to account for speedo error.

there are over a dozen videos on youtube of the GT650R doing speed over 220-230 kmph. there' one of it doing 235 kmph too.

now i'm sure those aren't "true" speeds... just speedo indicated.

Would be interesting to know how to get that "missing" 12 bhp back.

I fear that while detuning the engine performance it become a bit rough on the higher revs, happens with most of the imports when they are detuned for Indian regulation.

+1 (and with those vibes at 12000 rpm; NO WAY)

Its not a Indian manufactured bike so whatever the character of the bike it will remain like that unless there is a completely new version that will hit the market next year.

The bike cannot be taken above 175-185 KMPH as per Garware motors (You better check with them).
@satyen: its true that issue with tha vibes can be resolved but it is not possible in all the cases; this you also know and yea if they do it somehow that will be great. But till the time they are done with it they should not provide the test rides otherwise this can go against their sales figures...

Can you tell me why has it been detuned...? I mean what difference does 10 bhp make to the government...

Also is it not possible to "Re-tune" it once we buy it...? Sorry newb question... But is it possible...?
