    There is a lesson to learn here.. the Karizma sales did not pick up till its ex-showroom price was dropped from around 80K to 70K (way back in 2004 when 70-80k was a huge deal). Even the Pulsar 220 did not sell that great till the Fi was ditched and the price was dropped nearly 10K-15K.

    The ZMR can carry off the premium because its got the "above all" full fairing. Remove that full fairing and ZMR sales will come crashing down.

        IMO HMC should target pricing it under\around the ZMA!
        Heck with the true crf engine on the same platform that would be one hot machine!

        This still has the radical halo written all over it, and HMC is known to pull off miracles when it comes to thier target markets! This could well be the next 'CBZ' for HMC!


        That asides, what interested me the most is the mention of a 'tie-up' with a Japanese player for R&D and many more products coming up! Any more info on these?

          Aye! Aye! In India fairing are goose bump stuff......including me . However to me, ZMR didn't quiet get it right.

          Anyway, Im still scratching my head as to how the impulse will be received. Seems good by itself. But as you rightly said, I wouldn't want this if its the only bike I can have. Cause it falls into a category that doesn't quiet meet my requirement. I could be miserably wrong though.

            The engine on the impulse seems to be a 150 cc (doing rounds on the Hunk/Xtreme/Unicorn/Dazzler) and not based on the CRF230L/Karizma/ZMR engine..

            So if its a 150 cc, then can it have the pricing power in the range of the Karizma R..??

            Yep, the Impulse just as the "ONLY" bike seems to be rather diffcult idea to me. But to a guy who owns multiple bikes.. why not..?? But then how many of such guys are out there?

              a chance meeting with someone from hero honda, oops hero moto. The rumoured pricing is 1.1 lakhs. Production to commence in the gurgaon plant.

                Payeng: Its a CKD with a little bit of localisation... 1.1L is what xBhp first reported....

                My comment on the CRF was that IF it had then true crf engine then it would have been an even hotter option!

                For the price of a ZMA we could have a true blue international "dual sport bike" with AMI and what not! but more interested in

                More GC
                350mm front disc brake
                a new 156cc engine and what not!
                UNDERSEAT Exhaust, thats like a poser boy wet dreams almost as the fairing!

                  Sorry for the hurried post in excitement ( was posting from my cell ). They are also launching a scooter by the name of Maestro ( dint go thru the earlier pages, dunno if its been posted before ).


                  Also the reason for the London launch was to invite all dealers there. Call it relation building or something, but gives the dealers an option to enjoy with their families or themselves ( As told to me ).

                              This logo looks like the split doors in a lavatory.. What on earth were they thinking..? That some big foreign company's ideas will work here..?                               Is that 150cc..? I thought it was 180cc as put up every two bit blog.. And, did someone notice the scooter's pic..? It hasn't got a front mudguard.. See it here..

                                I would counter this statement.. The logo launch had nothing to do with the Riots. Hero Motocorp people are not astrologers that they would know what is going to happen next. They had the plan to launch it.. and lot of money was at stake.. International performers.. media.. Bollywood.. Think about it.. was it really logical to cancel the event? What you would have done if crores were at stake?
