People have problem with everything or anything Hero does.
Are they really that bad?

Their bikes are hated, their paintjobs are hated, their red sparkplug covers are hated, their headlamp visors are hated....But still doesnt make sense!

I dont find anything wrong with logo to be compared with lavarotary doors, broken railway tracks! Its a plain simple 3D logo that they tried to create and which might not be bad when its embossed on fuel tank rather placed as sticker.

Hero had been first in quite a few things in india...And Impulse is just one of them, and pretty sure there would be some nice ladhak voyages coming up on it! And Maestro is usually ignored here as its a *scooter*.

True as some one said, bashing Hero is the thing at xbhp.

No Hero bashing from my side, but they could have clearly done a better job with the logo. That "H" makes no sense, no appeal, no message, nothing?! It's angle ain't even clear at the first glance.

1. They could have gone with a "H" showing a road like the film "Musafir" showed "A":



It shows that Hero's products are for the roads, by the roads, on the road.

2. Maybe it could be a heart, resembling India's map shape too, as both are similar.

3. The most appropriate color could be military green or desert brown, showing some connection with India.

Why do they claim to be Desh ki Dhadkan, when their logo itself is Videshi!? Ok, ok, maybe I should be more diplomatic.

If I may add, Hero will the first to badge most of Honda products as Hero and still say "Now we will show the power of Hero Moto Corp to the world", I say Bravo!! As of now Hero is nothing more than unofficial assembler/manufacturer of Honda bikes. Hero is like that copycat kid who passes all the exams by copying Honda's paper and everyone knows that. So, how do you expect everyone to respect Hero then?

IMHO, if they continue to badge Honda products, they will only end up giving more free publicity to Honda. Even in rural areas significant number of people know that Hero is using Honda engines. If they continue like this, irrespective of how many million bikes they sell with Honda engines, the day they choose to repalce Honda engines, they will be back to square one. I'm not saying it's wrong or something like that, but if Hero continues like this, they will end up as a shell brand of Honda, nothing more than that. I hope they invest significantly in R&D and manages to replace Honda engines successfully. I'll be very happy to see something like that. That will be one hell of achievement. On the other hand, with each passing day Honda is expanding it's foot print & manufacturing capacity. If Hero falters at any stage, they are just going to get wiped off the market by Honda.

Its been hardly a few months since both the companies split and people are expecting Hero to do some R&D and roll out some super machines... Get a life people, bashing Hero has become a fashion statement these days, if you dont understand the logo... to hell with you
No offence to anybody

Atleast Hero has not copied logo of another MNC..., it's different and they have spent quite a bit of money for the logo & it's launch, logo doesn't mean it should have elements of company in it....there is no H in wings logo of Honda logo !

Hero is only playing safe by buying tech, it is their conservative decision. It's not easy to develop own technology that can beat HONDA's, which is world leader, try to understand this !! Hero has paid huge sum as loyalty & they are using Honda's tech till 2014 !!
Millions have unwavering trust in Hero products, they stand for BEST IN CLASS QUALITY, RELIABILITY & FUEL EFFICIENCY.
Hero has declared that a Japanese firm will be working FULL time with Hero (styling & ergonomics) & in near future there will be tech understanding with either Ricardo & AVL.
Hero is doing best thing and hope it succeeds !

I don't mean that they should not have stopped the launch, but could've rather delayed it a day or two.. The reasons are quite simple.. The Indians and Pakistanis in UK are already being attacked by mobs and vandals.. So, imagine if some riot group barged into this function and attacked everyone just because they were Indian, wouldn't it have tarnished Hero's image in the global arena where they wish to get a strong foothold..?? That was why i vented out.. Also, if they're a true blue Indian company with the tag line "DHAK DHAK GO" and "DESH KI DHADKAN", they should've done the re-branding here.. Its like naming your new born baby of Indian Origin in USA and then making a BIG publicity stunt out of it.. Again, my views only..

The rural Aam Aadmi will also say TO HELL WITH HERO.. They should've asked an Indian marketing firm to do the re-branding so as to understand the Indian mentality.. Ask any foreigner about Indians and you'll understand their perception of India.. A small reminder of it.. Apple is trying to CLEAR STOCK of unsold iPhone 3GS in India.. Why not launch it here first with the rest of the world..? And, please stop saying NO OFFENSE, when you offend someone.. It makes you look like a MASSIVE IDIOT (especially with those stupid smilies in this context).. Hope you take it positively..

But the Honda Wing personifies the spirit of flying feel that one gets when riding a smooth Honda bike.. TVS has a horse as its logo.. Does it mean that their bikes neigh when angry and grow a mane of hair on their fuel tanks..? It personifies a different value.. In that order, what do you think does Hero's logo personify..? because, honestly i can't to the best of my knowledge understand anything from it.. So, please stop blunt supporting and please learn to use Multi-Quote.. Cheers..

Millions trust Honda engines used in Hero products, their trust is not in Hero. If Hero wants to build the trust, they must start building products, which can be called their own. Not like this Impulse, just pick a model, which is selling overseas and then bring it to India as a Hero product.

I think its not fair to bash Hero for bringing another honda product.They have just broken with honda.They cant suddenly built their own product in short time.Also when launching new logo(Company Name) they cant do it without launching any product.

About this statement I think he was referring without the Honda Name..

Step child of indian bikinig history reveled

Dear all..yapeee the step child of Indian biking history(the touring). again start with a milestone of hero..and the best part of it that this bike engine have been certified earlier unicorn..so real serious touring bike come to the shore of Indian biking history.Hope now we can free to think some serious toring

This is a win win situation.

On one hand we have PURE blood Honda. No more Hero with it.
On other hand we have a new category opening up.

Hero will have to do a lot to come out of Honda's shadow.

Lets make simple and just imagine below situation and you will know what it means.

I rented out a office space and have a lease of it till 2014. I pay around 2lacs months just for the office space which is leased out by some DLF builders. And I have nice board of my company name on it.

2011 -2014....Its enough time for Hero to build their image with out *Honda* in their name (though engines will be still Honda). Honda thing will not be mentioned anywhere on Hero's bikes or manuals (except Hero's contract papers with Honda).

But still, lets not be nostradamous to predict whats going to happen 3 years down the lane.

A new category is bought be probably most hated two-wheeler company in xBHP...And still the numbers are strong.
