somewhat agree...........they should have revealed this thing in india.....where it matters, not in a foreign land where nobody know you.Originally posted by The_Lone_Rider View PostReally cheap publicity stunt! Why would anybody want to get born and start their reborn in a totally Foreign land where nobody knows your name or history, and where your engine displacements would be considered, lawn movers and kids' bikes? They have no market their, they've got no products being sold in UK.
If they really want overseas recognition then why don't they develop some nice bikes of significant displacements, good design and high technology (well i.e other than the stickers) and export them?
Thumbs down for HH on this one, I'm glad I didn't buy an HH bike but rather from a self-respecting company like Honda.

Have they sold atleast one bike in the UK ?
How does revealing their new logo in London help in Selling bikes in India?
Looks like we still haven't got rid of the colonial hangover

When i first read the title of the thread i read it as "Honda to reveal brand new identity in London"
so i clicked on it to see what the fuss is about.
And then i see a comment saying "Cheap publicity" and "lawnmovers" and "not having any market in UK" part and i was like WTF
are these people talking!
Then i scroll up and read again and i see "Hero Honda"
Now im curious to see what they will have to offer the Brits
And i seriously hope they wont stick Will-Kat stickers on their Indian products there :PGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

what's wrong with you guys? Hero group said clearly that "as a significant first step towards the company's transformation into a major global brand," so if they are expanding themselves & getting global this time then why they have to do it only in India..We should feel proud that an another Indian group is stepping in global world rather then just criticizing them..
i am sure that bikes like Karizma's can still do good for starters in those markets but Hero group has to increase their portfolio to stay there for long time & make a mark..but this is just starting & you guys already started criticizing them..din't expect this from fellow Xbhpians..
go Hero & hope you'll do wonders in other countries as well

At times like this, When Honda will no longer back them up with the R&D and their technology, what HH should be doing is Start a brand new strategy for the "Indian" market FIRST. One reason why HH has been largest selling is because they were basically Hero Frames on Honda tech(read reliability).
I remember reading an update here on Xbhp which said "HH looking for international partners for R&D". It shows they realize the damage and are now desperately looking for partners.
How long will their
1) Attractive body graphics
2) Stylish Alloy wheels
3) Sparkling L.E.D taillamps
schemes work?

without being biased about our country i still think that they can get better platform & better media coverage all over the world in London while in comparison to India..that's what i think..Originally posted by aargee View PostWhy in London? Your post is quite funny. They have hired an International agency to handle their creative marketing and branding which is pretty normal and actually good for them to have a great media promotion. It's on them to choose where they shell out their 100 crores for getting a new logo and new marking strategies. you give Wolff Olins some good cash, they will rebrand you as wellOriginally posted by The_Lone_Rider View PostReally cheap publicity stunt! I think its better to launch a global brand in london than in new delhi,
Hero is already a known name in india.(Even though Honda is not with them, a lot of people think hero will live up to the standards)
Some people passed comments like "Have they sold even one bike in london".
They haven't, and thats precisely the reason why you would go on to a place like that and launch a company.
If a global company by an indian is launched in india, world might not(Do Indians have a great name when it comes to producing quality products) take notice of it, Indian will.
If a global company by an indian is launched in london, world might take better notice of it, and so will the indians.
May be they are launching a 125cc vehicle to compete stunner/ktm/r125... Who knows
