    I am number 11 in this...phew!

Guys who are worried about the waiting time. Some people before you are BOUND to back out or pass-over their delivery in order to gain some more time for financial or other personal reasons. Also the 90-120 day waiting time is purely pessimistic on the part of Bajaj in order to make sure they don't have customers constantly pinging them to find out when their bike is going to arrive. This way they can breathe and do their job...

Yamaha told me 30 days for MT-01 delivery and took 45

You can imagine how much I made them cry for those 15 extra days

This way there is no crying...no fighting...just wait, get the keys and go!

but i still hope "ultra excited" buyers will ping them from day 30th thats 1 month to be precise.....
But yes Bajaj is playing safe regarding the delivery issue.

If you want the bike - go book it and buy it. Not booking it because Bajaj wants to keep Rs.10K of your money is like saying you'll get engaged to a girl but it is unreasonable on her part to expect loyalty and fidelity from you
Yes gsferrari...if it goes to legal action then Bajaj may have to refund full amount.Well, regarding the thing you said that why would one want to cancel the booking.
My dad in Jan (before the CKD isuue came up) booked for himself a Beemer (3-Series). The booking period was 4 months (without agreement. BTW while paying in 50,000 to Bajaj your have to sign a small agreement). However guys at BMW clearly said that the deposite was 100% refundable in case you want to cancel the booking.
Anyways this was just an instance to mention. What I say is that one may not know what may his or her financial health would be after 4 months. I mean 4 month is a long period. Many, if not most, of us may not tell what will happen to their finances after 1 month...then what for 4 months?
The thing you said came to my mind too that if you want the bike then why to fluctuate? But friend, apart from mood and feeling and liking there are certainly many other physical things that creep into lives in , dont they?
Anyways it would have been easy for customers if only one thing was there out of 4 month period or the penalty.

Like if there is no penalty clause, then 4 month period is not a problem. Likewise if we get the delivery in a month or so then the 20% penalty clause wouldnt be a problem.
        But both...
(and BTW congrats on your booking and a 2x congrats that you are no. 11)

        +1
...a person at the PBK (surely was a junior) told me that Bajaj intended to launch 650R around Diwali. But then 'ek aur company 650 cc bike layi hai aajkal maarkit mein. Bajaj waalo ko maalum tha ki jo khareedne ke tyaar baithe hain wo tho usey hi khareed lenge aur Bjaj the ghaata hoga waise bhi aur service mein bhi. Kuch bhi karlo inka production Sitamber tak hi shuru hoga..bas ye booking ka naatak bana diya.'
(one more company has launched a 650 cc bike here. Bajaj knew that the back logged people (waiting people like me who wanted a bigger bike at affordable prices) would buy the other company bike and Bajaj would loose all the money which it could earn by sales and after sales. Whatever is the case, full swing production (...read: assembly) would only begin in or around september. So they 'invented' the 4-month-waiting-period game so as to move away the customers from Garware)

on the other hand, Sai Service @ Andheri are clueless people on the Ninja front, all they know is that it is going to 'COME SOON'.

AFAIK there were 10 bookings in Chennai Probiking alone, That too within a week of commencing the bookings! I highly doubt if Bajaj would import 20 bikes alone in the first lot! Add a Zero (200) and that makes sense!

Exactly man! Both conditions suck.I love biking,I am huge fan of all the huge brands out there who make powerful bikes. However I know a little about how corporate giants lure "customers"(that's what we are to them in the end) to their doors, hence I stay quite hyper active for any investment i make in the market as a purchase.

                Biking is transcendental evolution.

In Bangalore 10 were booked on the 1st day of booking. The issue is delay in parts due to the Tsunami in Japan.. and the after affects.

And as I said earlier, this was told to me by someone in Bangalore PBK therefore only time will confirm.

Confirmed news, booking to stop in this week or next. Got this info from multiple sources.
                    - 20+ Bikes were already shipped to India
                    - 3 used for tests of which 1 was crashed
                    - 15 were booked even before the bookings opened officialy

So that leaves hardly any bike available in India if they want to use bikes at display too!

First lot of customers would get the bike in July.

Next lot in August (which is also full)

Next lot in September (which is also full)
and then finally the ones getting it in October which is almost full!

                    • Looks like the reports are right...severe shortages due to tsunami etc. I guess the lock-in clause was just to make sure that de-bookings didn't hurt their already slammed processes.

Well it looks like a LONG wait for everyone

Gives me more time to sort out the mods I have planned. Beyond 90 days I get my money back so I guess I can wait that long and then take a call. No other vehicle interests me at the moment so I don't mind waiting.
