120 days is unrealistic figure, These are pure business strategy.

The only way to cut sales of GT was to launch a similar specs bike a competitive price ( which IKM did eventually), but IKM was never prepared for Ninja650 ,so finally the bike was launched in hurry but the waiting period was made so high that IKM got enough time to complete the left over work.The waiting period of 120 days makes it almost impossible for buyer to wait for it.

I guess bajaj should launch zx6r or zx10r with waiting period of 1 year or more then they will surely get more booking than Ninja 650R.

^^ initial delivery process will start mid July... with buyers getting the bikes before the end of July.

the 120 day waiting period is for new bookings.

The CBR250R has a 5 to 6 month waiting period here.
and bookings are still coming in.

Yes , becoz CBR250 is the only option between 1 to 3 lac ( R15 is at the very lower end and ninja250r is at the upper end) but that is not the case with 650R , we have GT here although both bikes are completely different but at least we have a option unlike CBR250R.

Ninja is off from my side as of now but may be my mind change

after checking the bike in flesh.

Whatever the case is the waiting time period is not realistic at all.There should be a better solution to this.As come-on! The ninja 650r is not a new bike in the international market.It is new here.Proper planning and a strong-powerful business plan can fetch the delivery period a little short to what it is right now.*Big sighhhh*

However I did read a post from a guy here today who said he'd get his bike in 30 days time.which is AWESOME! Good for him.

wow now lets see mr x books a n650r waits for 120 days and finally when its time to picks up his bike IKM gets zx-10r or ninja 1000 to india

now whats is the fate of mr x

just thinking the wait period is bullshit they have overproduced n650r in thailand by the hundreds and all this wait period is just a game played by bajaj to sell the bike like honda wait period

Got a call from bajaj PBK today evening , Bajaj will not accept any booking after 12:00 noon tomorrow (i.e Thursday). Bajaj has received 120 booking for ninja650 in delhi and they have instructions from IKM to not accept any booking after 12:00 noon tomorrow (i.e Thursday).

So any body interested in Ninja can make booking before that time.

WTFISH!!!!!! X( Truly disappointed.People couldn't even see the bike upfront here,FORGET the test drive and then because IKM had to rush with the launch even before they could arrange to put the bike in the showrooms and arrange test drives for people who'd be at least a little concerned about the investment on the bike as they have no freaking idea how it would drive down the lane,they now come up with this.Bloody shameful for em!!

I think, you got xionite all wrong. AFAIK, there is no limited edition 650R; he was probably referring to the limited numbers that are available for ready sale today. Remember that this bike is imported as a kit and assembled here. In all probability, the first lot of N650R has already been sold and I'm sure the next few also have been booked.

Any idea where the first lot sale has happened? I thought deliveries haven't started yet.
