I am not going to go around tracks. well unless the BIC is open for some track days or something like that. I agree but i think even on a road going bike an adjustable suspension is worth the premium. And you don't need to go to a dealer to change the settings, a little bit of tinkering will get you the desired result. But i want that option to tinker around. I have always felt a bike with a good chasis, suspension and brakes is much better than a bike with just a good engine and so so suspension or brakes. Or any other combination thereof.

The daytona is different beast altogether. The price difference is that much more because it carries Ohlins TTX which is one of the best ones that they offer. And a quick shifter and brembos. And an arrows exhaust, though am not very sure about that. The cost of suspension alone over the standard model is around 1500 pounds and when you combine the rest the sun starts shining on its value. It is a very track focused bike, but it is a very good bike nevertheless. It is just that i don't have money for that. Actually i don't have much but at least i can imagine i can pool in around 7 somehow. so that is why i wrote for them to offer a R version on street triple.

at that price it is better than even the ducati 795 and this after me being a very big ducati fan.

lastly all of us are free to make a wish list. street triple R just happened to be in mine.

    cheers.

Oh I see... I was talking about Daytona... For Street Triple, yes it seems more justified.

Yes, I think the additional R tag on a Triumph is well justified by its features mostly. But it might get a bit expensive when it comes to Daytona.

    Daytona: GBP 8499
    Daytona R: GBP 9999 (+1500 over Daytona)

Calculations: R version costs about GBP 1500 extra in UK. Which is Rs. 1,16,000 something. Plus, add some more amount as the tax by Indian Government. Look around Rs. 1.5-2 Lacs extra... (Ouch!)

I do hope that Triumph manage the R version's cost effectively. Or just provides the same performance accessories as officially installable options on a Daytona...

I was under the impression that ex-showroom prices are same throughout, its the on-road price which should differ from state to state? Correct me if I am wrong.

Personally, I wouldn't go for the R version but you cant deny that its a good option for people who plan to ride it on track.

And if my memory is correct , honda was charging abt 70k extra for the repsol paintjob alone on its CBR 1000 RR.

Can confirm the same here, same email down to the last word. Guess Ashish must be getting bombarded with emails .

I do hope they have some kind of process for registering outside the metros they are planning to sell in. One of the major gripes I had with Ducati, trying to get a monster registered in Pune...ended up not buying it ultimately.

The special edition pain job is just white with an R. And as far as the Shock goes, doesn't make much difference is what I heard. If your looking for a fully fledged track machine, then why not invest individually on every part and get the best than spending more and then realizing that you will have to upgrade it again.

It's just my thought. I really do not think the R version is going to be launched here.

I admit Quickshifter is a good addition.

AFAIK from my friends, it will create more problems than solve it. If it's not setup properly for your weight, then its no good.

Next is the Brembo monoblocks which are superior than the regular 675's pads. but instead of spending for the monoblock, isn't it better you invest in braided break liners and a high quality break pad (Kevlar, or HH sintered) and then your done.

So do we really need the R model here for just the paint scheme?
