hi guys installed ba 2201 filter engine is smoother and pickup is better than before but . their is one problem the airfilter block symbol sign is glowing but bike performance is good no jerks or anything so is their anything to worry about that airfilter sign and if you need sound will have to remove the rubber on top of filter box other wise the sound is bit louder than stock. so guys is their anything i should take care of that air filter block sign. my bike has run 12500 and the filter is easy fit no need for any carb tuning i didnt do it didnt want to screw things. filter performance is good you ill feel the difference in the initial pickup gear to gear response is good . will let you know rest didnt get chance to test completly will go on a long trip on sunday to mysore will let you guys know how she performs.

Suresh, even I'm facing the issue of Air Filter blocked sign, but I THINK it could be due to the sealant, that I applied on the side frame of the filter. I would be going to my mechanic tomorrow for a check up. Then I'll let you all know. The performance is better now as the engine is free revving & has less retardation during deceleration. I bought the Filter from OZZ ONE Enterprises in Indiranagar as they are the Distributors for K&N in Bangalore. All in all I'm enjoying the bike more after the filter is fitted. It is just a 5 minutes job, I haven't done any tuning or rejetting, my mechanic told me to use it for a few days & then get back to him if there was a problem.

This is quite normal. The Air filter sensor senses that the flow has changed and hence flashes the icon. It is not blocked but rather the flow has increased and not the same value as before.

Please explain how is it like comparing BMW & Tata Nano? Its still the same bike whether the Air Filter is K&N or Stock. K&N on Indian bikes is known to cause many more issues than it supposedly solves. AND its maintenance is a pain. (eg. How much does a K&N cleaning kit cost BTW?) It would be a Tata Nano V BMW comparison if the BMW looked like a Tata Nano, rolled a lot on corners, topped out at 105, came with super skinny tyres + all drum brakes, would offer the same space as the Nano and would have the same 33 Bhp from a 6xx cc twin cylinder engine as the Nano but still cost 30 lacs to buy instead of 1.4 lac for the Nano. And this, clearly, is not the case, and hence the premium for the BMW.

And thats the reason I compared it w.r.t. performance. Because IF there is no change in performance, people would be better off buying a Rs.10 sticker instead of the 2.7k Air Filter.

P.S.: The points where your argument does stand is that both K&N and BMWs are a pain to maintain and cost 20 times as much as stock filter/tata nano. Nothing else. Since this is a new product, we need some feedback from early adopters / enthusiasts / auto magazines before we can start going GA-GA (not the lady) about K&N being the BMW and the humble stock filter being the Nano.

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

hi did you buy the sealent seperately or did it come with the filter cause i dint have the sealent so i didnt apply it and my bike was due for its service so i have now replaced it with stock filter hmm still the airfilter block symbol is being showing even after replacing stock filter ,hey let me know wether the sealent came with the filter. ok will wait till i get my bike serviced and then put the filter back.dont want those pbk guys to find a reason to void warranty.my rear brake lacks feeling and their are black lines on disk plates .hey possible photos of installation procedure my mechanic had put the filter the wrong way and later corrected it after seeing the m,anual and their was no sealent . now i removed cause im giving my bike for service on monday. so the correct position is the small hole facing the pannel locks right. just one pic showing the position when its fixed on the filter box.

                Suresh,
I got the sealant along with the filter in the box. I will try & post the pic tomorrow. It was in a tube, where did you buy the filter from ?

                Nitrosatya,
I know that the filter sign is flashing because of more air & not due to lack of it, or due to filter blockage.

                          K&N installed on P200

                          Hello !!

Finally, i bought the K&N from (OZZONE Enterprises @ Indiranagar)

and got it installed today on my 2007 Pulsar 200. Felt the difference,
the bike revs so freely, increase the throttle in lower gears and you will
feel that bike feels so free to rev more

Yet to take onto highway and test the performance

                              FYI Pulsar 200 Owners

I am not sure this is applicable for all the Pulsar 200 generation bikes.

But when i was replacing this filter, i found that the filter does not go
completely inside as pointed in the installation figure:

Its looks like as shown in Fig 2.

As per the Fig 4, the filter is seen to be completely sitting inside
the box and then you screw the airbox lid.

I found that in my Pulsar (2007 gen), the air box lid has only 2 screws,
which is different then what the figure shows (4 Screws). May be this
one is in the new gen bikes. My slot looks bit narrow.

As in may case the filter sits at the border, i am not able to put the
air box lid. So, i have just sealed outside with electric tape (may be not necessary).

I got my filter fitted during my bike service @ Bajaj service. They have
approved the filter being fitted like this and told me the bike response
                              feels better
