How much did you pay for Slime? How did you managed to ship it to India? Is any similar product available in India? What happen if this product fail, can you still simply change the tube and ride? This seems to be a very good product and must for off roading use as we have many throns (kaante) in our area. Is there any other sollution you recomand? Mind it that normally I ride/drive alone. Asking so much I am new with adventure biking.Originally posted by nav75 View Post
Why these vibration are there? Are they exist only on very high speed (say 80 KMPH and above)? Any sollution?Originally posted by nav75 View PostPapa always emphasize on making my own path...

$13.99 per bottle(32 oz.) + shipping.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostHow much did you pay for Slime? How did you managed to ship it to India? Is any similar product available in India? What happen if this product fail, can you still simply change the tube and ride?
A friend carried it for me to India.
Slime claims to seal the puncture upto 1/8inches.
If it fails, then I guess cleaning up the tyre inside and fitting a new tube should work fine.
If you are using 18" wheels, then you can also opt for Honda Tuff-Up tubes (used in Unicorn). Many people in Raid run them and I also used them in the ZMA's rear. Though haven't had any first hand exp of seeing it working but have heard from people that it works.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostThis seems to be a very good product and must for off roading use as we have many throns (kaante) in our area. I had got a reference of Welcome to Firefox Bikes - Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Hybrid Bike, BMX Bike, kids Bike...Bikes for everyone who also sells some similar solution.
These vibrations are known thing. They normally appear at speeds around 70 and above. Don't recall exact speed. They are not there always though.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostWhy these vibration are there? Are they exist only on very high speed (say 80 KMPH and above)? Any sollution?
Again, I think, Slime don't recommend running at high speeds (I guess over 100 or so) with the solution in the tyre/tube.2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

The only issue that arises with these Solutions is that when the Valve starts to leak, you have no option but to tear apart the Tyre and replace both Tyre and tube. Which is a painful job both physically and on the pocketOriginally posted by nav75 View Post$13.99 per bottle(32 oz.) + shipping.

How many bottle should be required for bike like Impulse.Originally posted by nav75 View Post$13.99 per bottle(32 oz.) + shipping.

If I am not mistaken the impulse front tyre is of 19" and rear is 17" so Tuff-Up is of no use.Originally posted by nav75 View PostIf you are using 18" wheels, then you can also opt for Honda Tuff-Up tubes (used in Unicorn).
It was a great pointer. Just had a talk with the FireFox dealer at Jaipur and he said they sell the same brand "Slime". Right now not in stock but he said they can arrange for me if I place my order. Having said so, it is available in India through FireFox. Nice. He has given me a tentative idea of price which is INR 500 per bottle. He said for bycycle, one bottel is needed for both the tyres so in his openion for a dirt bike we might need to use 4 bottles. I am not sure if what he said is authetic. Do you have any idea of this? How many bottles did you ship for your bike and what was the quantity per bottle.Originally posted by nav75 View PostI had got a reference of Welcome to Firefox Bikes - Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Hybrid Bike, BMX Bike, kids Bike...Bikes for everyone who also sells some similar solution.
No worries, I guess the top speed of Impulse is 100 KMPH onlyOriginally posted by nav75 View PostThese vibrations are known thing. They normally appear at speeds around 70 and above. Don't recall exact speed. They are not there always though.

.
1. I am going to request him to join this forum.Originally posted by 2strokerama View Post@NarenCharan: Why dont you get your friend onto xbhp and make him open an ownership thread? SO, when are you expecting your impulse??
Its unbelievable that no one on xbhp owns an impulse yet.
2. If he does not join, who knows if I am going to be the first XBHPian who owns an Impulse.
3. I might buy a Impulse within this month.
PS :: I visited the Hero dealer and checked for the finance option. The financial they had there was HDFC and he told me that the interest rate is going to be 13% flat
. Is it not too much? I have decided to buy the bike in cash.
hummmm... In that case why to change the tyre??? I guess changing only the tube will be fine. Correct me with details if Am I wrong?Originally posted by mansuryayas View PostThe only issue that arises with these Solutions is that when the Valve starts to leak, you have no option but to tear apart the Tyre and replace both Tyre and tube. Sorry didn't get, why we will have to tear the tyre and replace it?Originally posted by mansuryayas View PostThe only issue that arises with these Solutions is that when the Valve starts to leak, you have no option but to tear apart the Tyre and replace both Tyre and tube. Slime is just a liquid solution. If it leaks out due to tube being damaged, why can't we simply clean the tyre and fit a new tube?
I don't remember but I think we need 8oz for one tyre, means 16oz is what you will need. Will confirm it after reading the instructions on the bottle.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostHow many bottle should be required for bike like Impulse.
Just confirm from him that its for tube and not for tubeless tyre. Slime for tubeless tyre is easily available.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostIt was a great pointer. Thanks Nav, I shall check with the dealer.Originally posted by nav75 View PostJust confirm from him that its for tube and not for tubeless tyre. Slime for tubeless tyre is easily available.
One more question, what if the tube is filled with Slime and we want to decrease the tyre presure (for better traction on off road use), possible???
Here are some more photos from another new friend Hitesh.Last edited by NarenCharan; 12-14-2011, 07:57 PM.Papa always emphasize on making my own path...

Thanks for the information. I am sorry for the wrong reference, I copied from the Facebook account of Hitesh and even posted after his permission. I never thought that these picture are not his own. I just rechecked his Facebook photos and found that he actually got a Green Impulse.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostThese are the pics of zigwheels journo Varad/Speedy and not Hitesh'sPapa always emphasize on making my own path...

Should be possible.Originally posted by NarenCharan View PostOne more question, what if the tube is filled with Slime and we want to decrease the tyre presure (for better traction on off road use), possible???
Just confirmed, on dirt bike/scooter we need to use 8oz per tyre, as mentioned on the Slime bottle.
Also its mentioned on the bottle that, "Slime will remain liquid, which may result in imbalance or vibration".2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

Onroad price 75889 (inclusive of Goodlife Card).The knuckle guards seen in ads aren't available yet.इस गोल दुनिया में सीधे चलने वाले ज्यादा दूर नहीं जाते
