The best part of social networking , looks like the company got the feedback pretty fast and must have realised by now what it's customer expects from TVS. TVS must realise what the indian biking enthusiast associates TVS with great bikes like the Shogun and Fiero , which have cult following and can even now hold their own. The same was the case with Yamaha who lost track what the company stood for and what the Indian Biker expected.
Looks like in TVS's case "History does not repeats itself , fools repeat history" .
May be Apache may not muster up the number the econo cruisers do , but looking at Bajaj's strategy that premium bikes have higher returns, this should say something to TVS.
Peace!!

Bro such small revamps should not happen after such long hibernations....This is what HH had done with the karizma....Honda with uni...TVS was not amngst the rest...atleast what set them apart were their REAL upgrades....this isnt an upgrade ; its a revamp...."New Beast, same bloodline"----- wrong ; its the same OLD beast, definitely a very good one though. The teaser was totally uncalled for and a very unTVSish gimmick.Last edited by Avik Chakraborty; 04-19-2012, 04:52 PM.

I really Hope what you say is true man!!! Or else it is a serious insult to the RTR riders
. All these months of hibernation
only to have come out like a wimp is not what is expected from TVS....C'mon TVS ,you are perhaps the only indegenious Bike manufacturer who understood what bare ass riders wantd.Pls dont let the Apache clan down now.

I am actually glad that the engine is not any different and that gives me some solace. I really love the roar of the RTR.

It seems that White LED pilot lamps are coming in new apache...second in Indian biking after Mahindra Stallio....Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostHere are some real spy shots of the new apache.
Guys, its a disappointment. I dont think the power will go up its just a cosmetic upgrade and according to me the new bike looks a wannabe/original apache on steroids.
I'm heavily dissapointed with TVS(one of my favorite brands).

i know that and completely agree with you mate but why weren't TVS onto building a new motorcycle for such a long time. They have a better mentality and don't fool people by calling 'cooled oil' oil cooled. TVS Apache is one hell of a bike and it deserves a proper upgrade. Im just saying that this upgrade should have been planned in a much much better way. Im about to buy a bike and sadly the new apache wont be on my list......i SO wanted it to be.

I don't like BAJAJ but see they are bringing KTM and KAwasaki to the country, Please be the TVS you were at the time of launching the RTR's. Bring something new to the table, don't treat upgrades the Hero Honda way (plastics and stickers).

Guys, the cycle repeats again. News of a 'new' bike launch hits the online portals, everyone goes ga-ga with their expectations and then when the final product hits the market, there is massive disappointment all around. For a company like TVS, the investment in R&D for a brand new (reengineered) performance bike is going to be massive. Do a quick cost comparison on the volumes they can generate and the profit off each bike and you will see why a manufacturer like TVS has to milk each platform for all its worth. Someone posted about the different Apache's looking the same. Well with the 150, 180, 200 and 220 Bajaj was even more guilty of this, werent they? The world didnt end at that time, did it?
I recall someone had done this same number crunching a long time ago, maybe Payeng or one of the other long timers here can help with pulling out the exact post. Im unable to locate the thread.
Keep it real and you never are left with your hopes shattered.
I believe you are mistaken here. Coming out with a new (new being a relative term here) model takes months of effort and dedicated testing unless of course it is a sticker job. TVS has been working on the upgraded Apache for quite some time now and Im pretty sure this isnt just a cosmetic upgrade. The launch of the 200NS recently is part of Bajaj's planned upgrade cycle just as this Apache is part of TVS's planned upgrade cycle. If it is just a sticker job with ABS being carried over, I will have to eat my wordsOriginally posted by bprags View PostTVS has killed the brand, this is just going the Karizma way.
On the other hand I feel this is a stop gap arrangement, just coz at present they dont have an answer to the P200NS, I believe they must have planned for a 10 or 20cc upgrade, but after looking at the P200NS they have realized 10, 20cc isnt going to work out, they will also have to improve the entire package, probably they have gone back to the drawing board, which will definitely take more time, but anyways I dont have any hopes from this company, anyone holding shares of this company sell them off, this isnt going to get above the 50 RS mark.
I agree. TVS hit the nail on the head with their ad campaign. It has backfired though. Expectations went sky high with the teaser pic and their image has hit rock bottom after people saw more pictures of the bike.Originally posted by shivank View PostKudos to TVS!
Not for the ghastly mods they have done, of course, but for their promotion and ad campaign skills. That's one great example for anyone who's studying marketing. Catch customer's fancy and try to woo him for something that never existed.
