That is why i said this "or for that matter a old rtr, cbr, pulsar guy in a new rtr, cbr, pulsar or vice versa and they will all goOriginally posted by saipranav View Post+1
I bought my apache on july 1st 2010 and joined xbhp somewhere between march and may 2011...
Until i joined xbhp, i never heard any of my friends complain about the mysterious vibrations problem, i personally liked the fz but went for A180 for its power and didnt find any difference between how my friends fz vibrates and how my bike vibrates, even the fz owners agrees to that.
The vibration problem is indeed blown out of proportion, this problem is imilar to the pulsars supposedly bad quality problem... it all depends upon the nut that connects the saddle to the handlebar, if not maintained properly, even a ninja/ducati will vibrate
"
How is comfort and performance not related to aerodynamics? what else is aerodynamics for in a bike? Do you understand what is aerodynamics?Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostWindblast-wise, yes, you're right that 220 will fare better than FZ.
BUT, I really think that Windblast comfort AND Performance from Aerodynamics are 2 different things. Ok, P220F might save you some windblast, but what about performance compared to a bikini fairing?
Or in other words, do you want to say that P220 naked is less performing than P220F? I don't think so.
And secondly, you show that FZ(naked) and P180(bikini fairing) are the same category in Aerodynamics? Sure?
So doing 250kmph on a R1 without fairing would be as comfortable as a faired R1 and you would yield better performance cause of loss of weight? what about the drag your body generates as speed increases?
at 100kmph it doesnt make much of a difference whether you ride a naked or semi or fully faired bike.. but above 100kmph you will see their benefits.
Yes P180, FZ16, RTR, Discover, Splendour etc etc are all naked bikes. if you call the P180 a faired bike then even a ducati monster, a true blue naked, is a faired bike. lol if it doesnt protect you from the wind it doesnt make any difference whatsoever.
This is going off topic. I shall stop here. Hope this link helps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_fairing

As a RTR 180-ABS owner done 1400Kms, vibrations are not an issue. Previously I had a Yamaha Libero and I don't find RTR vibrating more than the Yammie.
The USP of RTR are: excellent throttle response, exhaust note, brakes, etc., and for anyone buying Apache vibration is never a problem.

I owned a fz before and a P220 now. the fairing is such a boon during touring.
bikini fairings are not fairings per se. and almost all our bikes are naked bikes. excepting a few.

Exactly, more than the vibrations to the "common public" the RTR has issues with cramped riding position for tall/well built guys (but that also gives the Apache RTR a USP as a compact sporty bike)..
..and even with all the promotion of "Racing DNA", somehow the in the minds of customers "outside xBhp", image associated with the Apache RTR brand is not that strong as compared to the Pulsar (thanks to the initial "Definitely Male" image and the very recent P220 "fastest Indian" Image) or the Yamaha R15 (the Racing Instinct machine).

But anyways, we don't have much naked bikes anyways. Some Enfields, FZ16 and that's it.

meet me ! rtr owner fed up with vibes especially on rear passenger footpegs and handlebars . on short city commuting its ok but on longer rides hands really get tingly . pillions also keep complaing how 100 cc bikes have less vibes . the fact that vibes happen at 55-70 which is the most used speed range also is bad .Originally posted by payeng View PostBut I have yet to personally meet a biker/customer who has specifically rejected the RTR because of its vibrations.
But hey, that's me.

yes nobody rejects it. its a flimsy ground to reject a bike. it has alot of other good qualities but its there. which bike doesnt have its own "vibes" issue.Originally posted by payeng View PostBut I have yet to personally meet a biker/customer who has specifically rejected the RTR because of its vibrations.

Just guessing. That' why I said "if"...Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postlol why should they have 220cc?
true the performance, handling, weight part but dont think RTRs are any cheaper than other bikes.
Half Fairing (like P220, Karizma) and Biking fairing (like P/A 180) are almost equal at aerodynamics. In fact, I suspect the bikini one to be more aerodynamic given that these half's are so flatly shaped (not talking in general).fairing half or full contributes to aerodynamics. no fairing contributes nothing. and have you tried lifting the fairing of a P220 or zma?
But anyways, we don't have much naked bikes anyways. Some Enfields, FZ16 and that's it.
True that its an overrated problem but the competition is so hard, with the Japanese specially. The "vibrations" of the Apache RTR is something which is blown out of proportion at xBhp. I have never come across any normal guy/biker who rejects the Apache RTR becuase of it vibrations.
When I test rode both of them, 160 had more notably more vibes and they were annoying for a guy on P180 UG3!
But yes, RTR has bigger problems like riding position with tall guys, not the fastest Indian yet, stock tyres, cost of RTR-ABS (which is justified, but we the Indians compare...), etc.
