Reminds me of the fanboyism...! Little curious to know, do you work in Automobile Field? Specifically any manufacturer?

How can that be just because they both share the same Split LED Tail Lamps. Wolf eyes? Are those not in the ZMA, ZMR, R15 etc..etc...? About the Mill, i think every manufacturer in the world has a 150 cc mill that can be bored out to a 180 or even to a 200 if the bore is within the specs required to handle the extra cc's. So TVS having their 160 bored out to 180 is their R&D step-Up. Also have you seen the Three Valved RTR's in the circuits? Are they by any chance copied from Bajaj or anyone? Just curious!

All the 600's to 1000's globally put out the same power output more or less with just minimal changes, even their bore x stroke are the same. Does this mean all copy from some other guy who tried to make some random BHP & hell not interested in making something of their own?

    - Almost every manufacturer now have made this standard and nothing to complain about he coping her & stuff! Give me a name of one manufacturer who still doesn't have any of these in India.

Only the C-ABS was developed by Honda in 1993 that was introduced in CBR 1000F, rest all the ABS can be developed & Finely skilled by anyone. No one copied from CBR in India i guess!

Have you noticed that almost all the naked looks the same? Even the Streetfighter 1098 headlights looks somewhat similar to FZ1 & Very similar to Naked Hyosung 650. Who copied who here??

they should learn from HERO & bajaj,so as to make a bike design from own R&D
This is gonna create a problem here with others i guess....!

P.S. Not a post to pick a fight for Brand wars, just a healthy discussion that i wanted to share & btw. I work for Media & not for any Automobile company!

The most Likely Bike is to be a 250cc Three valve liquid cooled bike with about 30BHP.TVS already makes a liquid cooled 3-valve engine for the TORMAX which is an underbone they sell in Indonesia. So maybe they will try to get a bigger engine of the similar type into the apache platform. The service centre manager told me that they were being trained for a new bike with three valves and Radiator.

The Apache RTR's are already "Streetfighters" / "Street SportsCommuters"

With a rich heritage / experience of being the only Indian manufacturer to participate in off motocross /supercross racing events with a Factory Racing Team, I am actually surprised that it did not happen.

TVS could have easily become the first Indian company to put out an on-off road (Transroader in Hero Moto Speak) bike. I mean what's the point of having an off road factory racing team?

I'm guessing the bikini fairing will be taken away to make it look more naked... and the bike will be looking very close to velocity but not exactly same...

And also there is no 220cc on works, only a 200cc motorcycle which will have all the bells and whistles. Dont be surprised if 3V-Twin spark combo appears. As per initial reports, they are targeting more than 20+PS. The bike can be expected to be quicker than the P220 for sure but by how much would be the question. Which also means that CBR and KTM are now safe as i dont see any threat from the 200cc(in acceleration/quarter mile runs), Sigh!!

PS: 200cc launch is still many months away!!
Velocity? So,a naked 180 is on the cards.Any information about the price on the 200cc and whether the styling be different than the current ones?

Why they can't launch it soon? The last 'technical' update was RTR 180 way back in 2009 and a ABS add-on in March 2011. Why TVS can't bring something bigger & better every year?

@Chicane:Thanks a lot for sharing 'inside' information now and then. These tease a Apache fanboy!

    Yes i know!!

This is as per today's update.

As always TVS is trying to play safe. They had different configuration/setups under development and only the 200cc is the one which has got the go-ahead.

    What say?

If TVS doesn't revamp its range with so many new brands making their way to india, TVS is gonna lose a large portion of its market share.
