Its not about technology- technology hardly makes a difference I observe. Its more about tuning- Classic 500 is tuned for low end and mid range torque. Not for top end rush.

Hmm... Can't trust that site but still, Rev limiter in 6th gear @ 127 kmph?? Are they making a CB1000R wannabe? My guess is that they forgot to change the gearing: Remember, Duke 125's gearing allowed it to top at around 110 kmph, before Revlimiter.

So, maybe the final market version of the bike will have changed gearing, won't it?

I am giving an option to buy. Why waste money on this single cylinder stuff and arguing over SOHC, DOHC, liquid cool etc.. When decades old 250 CBR has all that and tons more in the future years to come with this new stuff.

Wrong example. What i am comparing is the buying options you have for the same kind of money.
I have clearly mentioned its doing around 30kmpl. So i have nothing to complain about mileage.

Guys as Posted earlier too , I need some help in guiding me in buying a new bike . . I had booked my P180 but for some reason i got it cancelled . . now reading all the news about the spotting and the launch of new pulsar . . im waiting to get a new bike but what i read was the bike could be expected on-road by march . . well if thats the case then i dont think i can wait as the bike is best means of transport for me travel so i desperately need it . . so kindly suggest me a bike suited to my need . . Im 6ft tall and my everyday run is 34km to-fro so need a bike which has a FE of around 45, options in my head are :
1. P135 (heard to be a great powerful bike with good FE and also a better 4-valve engine)
2. P180 (Good power as i do speed up when roads permit and best styling in terms of seating and riding)
2. Honda Dazzler (which most people suggested for the Honda Engine)
3. CB Unicorn (getting it for 80k on-road with spot delivery, too expensive for me compared to 74k for P180) . .

Until now P180 acc to me was the ideal option but now mostly i have read that bajaj engines are not for long-term . . even is the case with new dtsi engines ?????. . but if pulsar which comes out is not a fuel efficient bike then my wait would be of no point . . totally confused whether to wait or just get the bike . . the thought of "should have waited for some time atleast" is killing me thinking me about the new pulsars . . tired of waiting for pulsar launch news . .

1. This is CBR 250RR 1998 with 4 stroke inline 4 engine. It can do around 25kmpl+ even you rev it high. There is a slightly de-tuned naked touring/sports model called Hornet 250 based on this same CBR 250RR engine.

2. Many people give many reasons but basically they stopped producing these stuff due to lack of interest in the 250cc segment for an expensive and sophisticated sports bike. That's why now these type of bikes starting from 600cc. Inline 4 that rev up to 19k, Liquid cool, triple disk brakes etc..costs money and there should be a market. And even those days these are mostly made for Japan local market.

That's why all of them are making low cost single cylinder, low rev like max 10k bikes stuff now.

Bajaj will never kill its flagship product. I think high CC bikes are joint developments with KTM or KTM products will be sold separately like they do with Kawasaki.

If you like p180 and went to buy one, then most probably the new one will impress you more with its all new additions. But we have no info about its availability or price. They might ask you for higher premium for all of these new additions. For now Honda Dazzler is the best choice in my opinion.
