  • NexGen Pulsar to be launched on January 30, 2012!!!

After the long wait and enormous expectation this the first look at the new bajaj Pulsar 2012. This was spotted near the Bajaj factory in Pune and photos were taken when the bike is being tested on the public roads heading towards Nashik Phata.

These bike in picture were spotted on the new Nigdi-Nashik Phata highway. At the first look it seems like the Pulsar 135 LS , But have closer look . The bike has monoshock ( first for any bajaj range bikes) and if you take even more closer look you will see orange tag on the crank case and KTM written on it .
So the engine is taken from the joint development of Bajaj-KTM 125 Duke ( just a guess) . The rear wheel still has a drum brake so the bike will in line of 125cc to 150cc. The tail lamp looks similar old line of Pulsars.

Some design references taken from Kiska Designs 125cc Duke. Like the Front fender and the headlight design. The speedo was not able to be seen so cannot comment on one. The tank seems similar to the current pulsar range (p200). The interesting parts are the Rims similar to the baby Duke 125 , Lets hope this not the new Duke 200cc for India. That will be a big no-no from the KTM fans in India.

              Finally !!!!
125-150 cc.. Looks like Bajaj wants to ensure the "kitna deti hai" criteria is fulfilled as well.

Nice! The KTM 125s were probably stripped to make the pulsar.

                Where's the exhaust?

I am surprised to see same pulsar like taillight. I was expecting bigger changes.

                      Where's the exhaust ?
I don't even see the smaller exhaust like that of KTM !
The head light and tank design is similar to that of a Pulsar 135

                        Drum brakes? Why?

Mono-shock is a welcome change though.

So, things that I have spotted as of now are KTM-lookalike alloys, thicker front forks (?), rear-fender lifted from P135LS, Mono-shock, rear-set foot pegs.

                        And...wait for the specs begin!!!
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

                          Naiicee

Nice catch kapil...this one cannot be the KTM 200 coz of: i) Rear drum, ii) Telescopic front forks

The engine, as Kapil says, seems to be direct lift from KTM, coz the exhaust is missing (in sight that is), must be an under-body exhaust...looks like a new and improved version of Pulsar 135. Might make sense of launching this alongwith KTM Duke 200 as psychologically, a high cc (read 180-220) launch might create some confusion in the minds of the potential buyer...despite the bikes belonging to a totally diff class/category/need...

                          Speculations galore

                          -Amod.

                            Salient points to be noted:

                            1. uno suspension
                            2. adjustable swing arm leght
                            3. not too upright seating, but pretty much rear sets
                            4. RVM has been a total rip off of current pulsars
                            5. sporty hanging rear footpegs
                            Ride safe..wear helmet.
Love trance..? you gotta listen to this
