In my useless view Hero has grabbed Honda by its balls.
Its a very clever move to ensure that they still honour thier contract, and also bleed HMSIs existing India models to a slow death.
What Honda has, Hero doesnt (R&D, new platforms)
What Hero has, Honda doesnt (Money, infrastructure, an effing huge supply chain, a wide spread network)

By the time Hero is ready with its 'other' partners, it would have tightened the grip enough to perhaps squash Honda balls.

Remember Hero can sell this product internationally too!

So the over priced CBF stunner, could get a slightly cheaper "better" HMC equivalent in India and/or worldwide! The ever delayed Honda scoots now have ready available Hero equivalent!

I for one, think its the smartest thing HMC has done for a while!

and I curiously wait at the CBR based product from HMC!

Those who were not satisfied with the Stunner's color options can now watch out for some interesting decals and color schemes from Hero

I'm waiting for the CBR 250 and other bikes from the honda stable, in case HMC manages to provides spares of same or better quality for a decent price, then their version of CBR will be a run away hit!!!

this is a great way to stop the sales of the stunner. its a over priced bike! i hope hero will price it less and yeah waiting for the cbr series from the hero
IMO this is the best way to kill honda copy all their bikes and sell it at a lower price

There have been rebadging in cars... (nissan micra and renault pulse)

Even TVS engineers were able to make a different looking Fiero,when they parted from Suzuki...
But,as Satyen says...with ON-TIME delivery from Hero, Honda better rethink their Strategy...
Even Hero Ignitor has a mini Digital console....

Honda will be supporting HMC till 2014. Which means Honda is sharing these models with HMC till 2014
HMC is still on the lookout for other manufacturers for its R&D.
The newly Launched IMpulse is also a Honda product even though it doesnt sport a Honda badge anymore.

Also Honda is bringing in their own lineup of commuters this year onwards so The Stunner and the Twister could be on their way out from Honda's stable.

As for HMC's 250cc CBR, i doubt it will happen because the CBR is Honda's flagship model.

When you go Independent and when you are trying to establish a brand and an image that you can do it by yourself-this is piss poor.They could have used the HONDAs engine but at least re designed the bike!i mean exact replica?what does that say about a brand?
