seriously, I believe this design was offloaded to XEROX corp. and they did what they do the best...
I hope XEROX is not doing the rest of the designs for hero. even if they are, please ask them to have the ducati panigale as their base design...

Can you ever imagine Honda sharing a CBR600 or a CBR1000R with HMC?Originally posted by saipranav View PostCan someone enlighten me why Hero cant copy CBR 250?
I was really hoping they copy that and provide better quality + sales and service
CBR's represent Honda internationally.
Its why they call them the "Flagship" models.
There are so many patents on the 250R alone so you really think Honda would share it?
You mean To HMC?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

But the decision is not in honda's hand i guess... i mean Hero paid hundreds of millions of dollars while separating... did they pay all that money for stunner and activa? wtf?Originally posted by Nithesh View PostCan you ever imagine Honda sharing a CBR600 or a CBR1000R with HMC?

1. For two companys who have divorsed these two are way too much in each others arm! For love of god, Get a room you two!
2. The CB series engines are the biggest flagship for Honda internationally. Allowing that to be used by Hero is some what of an shocker move and dare I say a big win for Hero. These CB series engine can be further tuned and slapped on to future models thus allowing my grandkids the joy of riding Passion XXX!
3. I wonder what else did munjals get out of there breakup as allamony? Probably honda's CEOs collection of bonsai plants or his used panty collection!
(I know its a bit racist/generalizing towards Japanese people, but you did find it funny & so you too are going to hell with me.)
4. Ok last one I promise! With Passion X and Ignitor the great Indian tradition for naming bikes like cheap condoms featuring naked chicks on the cover contiues...(I am saying Indian coz other desi corps like TVS are also responsible for such stupid names i.e., FLAME)
ALL posted in jest, no harm intended! Peace!
When in doubt...... Gas it!

[QUOTE=Guru_DTSi;754649]They were good sticker makers, now, they will also make new clutch casings. But why such wierd names?
Ignitor, Sparkplugger?????
QUOTE]

ROFL.. sparkplugger..
Hero might just pick that up for their next bike.
Exactly!! However, it will just end up killing Stunner.Originally posted by karthiktup View PostNow HMC has become as franchise for HMSI
. Poor stunner copy
Bang on!! Honda is surely going to feel the heat, but I would never under estimate Honda, with the kind of resources at their disposal, nothing is impossible for them.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostIn my useless view Hero has grabbed Honda by its balls.
Its a very clever move to ensure that they still honour thier contract, and also bleed HMSIs existing India models to a slow death.
What Honda has, Hero doesnt (R&D, new platforms)
What Hero has, Honda doesnt (Money, infrastructure, an effing huge supply chain, a wide spread network)
By the time Hero is ready with its 'other' partners, it would have tightened the grip enough to perhaps squash Honda balls.
Remember Hero can sell this product internationally too!
So the over priced CBF stunner, could get a slightly cheaper "better" HMC equivalent in India and/or worldwide! The ever delayed Honda scoots now have ready available Hero equivalent!
I for one, think its the smartest thing HMC has done for a while!
and I curiously wait at the CBR based product from HMC!
Yeah.. they have already shown that they can make good carbon copies, it's time they produce something original and show that they got some self respect & self confidence. But, at the end of the day if it's all about money, then they are on top of their game. I don't think they are passionate of making bikes, if it were, they would have come out of this JV long ago.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostROFL

The deal between Honda and HMC expires in 2014 after which Honda will no longer provide any technology or bikes or any R&D inputs for any of the HMC products.Originally posted by saipranav View PostBut the decision is not in honda's hand i guess... i mean Hero paid hundreds of millions of dollars while separating... did they pay all that money for stunner and activa? wtf?
So for the next two years, expecting HMC to roll out a brand new engineered motorbike is like expecting This country to be 100% corruption free.

No it will not since Stunner is an outgoing model for Honda. It will be replaced with some new model this year.

If i give you my chocolates once i get sick of eating them, why will i be jealous?

It takes Months (if not years) of R&D to develop a bike for the Indian Market. HMC is barely a year old now. You cant expect HMC to bring out a complete new package for the Indian market in such a short period of time. Till date it relied heavily on Honda while people called it a "Desi Brand". But now you can see who actually had the upper hand in Hero Honda collaborationLast edited by Nithesh; 01-04-2012, 11:39 PM.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

This is a Nice move from Hero,,,,,, Instead of trying some weird things like RE60,,,,,,,,, They have used the same model and selling things with new dresses but same heart,,,,,
Tell me a Indian manufacturer who has not copied anything from any Foreign manufacturer ???,,,,,,,

@Nitesh, I guess I didn't ask any questions
Stunner might be an outgoing model, but this move by Hero just makes it happen a lot more quicker. Shine/Stunner are still selling well for Honda, so I don't think Honda is tired of selling them without investing much into them. But, surely Honda must have thought of proper replacements to them.
huh.. I think there was lot of discussion on this in other related threads as well. Of course Hero is paying lots of money so that it can use Honda's tech and all is well with that. But, since you want to establish an identity of your own, it makes sense if you stop producing carbon copies. Atleast, they can come up with a new design, in which they can use their own engine at a later point of time. Least of all, they can name it decently, Ignitor, come on now
