Because it will be obviously priced less than KTM 200 and I will be left with a dilemma which one to choose.Originally posted by Ab13 View PostBecause ???
I know it wont be having the swing arm, the inverted forks of the chassi of a KTM but Rajeev Bajaj claims tht it has a technology which is not found in any other bikes...which makes it interesting...
Once launched should I wait for its reviews and its first ride or should simply go and book KTM 200 on Feb1st ??

Rightly said.. I appreciate your backing to senior members and yes there is a lot of clutter gathered in this thread. But also see there are noobs on this thread who might have not heard on da brand ktm before it was discussed here. Most of them are in aware of ktm's philosophy of bare minimal on 2 wheels. As you said posts are free, just flip through. You clearly explained most of the points people are 'worried' about. Payeng gave an excellent explanation on the under belly exhaust with Tbird compero. About the tank fz has a 12l tank I have done Chandigarh to Goa and Chandigarh to leh with no issues on a tank having just 1.5 ltrs more.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostI have been following the KTM threads for a long time now. I wasn't much interested to add to chaos, so just observed. But after all the interesting heated arguments couldn't resist myself. BTW this is my first first post after a long time partially due to my almost departure from the biking scene. But, the Duke has got me hooked, and has reignited the passion for biking in me. I'm one of the many to book it on first day!
So coming to the great debate > Is KTM a worthy tourer or not?
I just smile when people comment on it's tank capacity as major bottleneck. 10Litres.. ? Ha ha.. So a mere 3 litres more on CBR 250 with 30Kgs more weight make it a capable tourere? Is is so difficult to refuel every 200Kms?
Fairing for touring? When has Fairing got to anything remotely with touring? How many of us are able to sustain 130+KMPH in Indian roads? And you don't need fairing for that anyway! There's difference between racing and racing while touring! lol
Touring in India does not mean travelling on GQs and 4 lane express ways only!
What you require the most is a relaxed riding position, good fuel efficinct, ability to off-road as well. One can't expect to have a ultra light 25 Ps bike, with 20litres fuel capacity.
Infact Duke is the perfect tourer India requires. A bike which as much fun on GQ as on More plains!
Remember "Comments are free, but facts are sacred".. a comment should not change facts. No offence to anyone, but when you criticize a product you should be able to back up his/her claims with experience. Riding to office doesn't make one a TOURER!
Of course people like Payeng will take offence to such stupid arguments, who knows what he is talking about . Amen!
Only thing that bothers me is the mileage. It shouldn't have, but unfortunately I am working and saving for my MBA, can't afford a bike with under 30kmpl. I guess no one has that answer before people buy it, go through run ins and report. Sorry for typos. I m on my phone and edge connection, so things are not as swift as they should be.

There is no way Mileage will be above 30 kmpl, since it company claimed Mileage, it will be great if this machine can return atleast 25 kmpl. I am just waiting for Mileage reports from owners, don't want to buy a bike which might give 15-20 kmpl. Already once bitten believing company claimed Mileage buying FZOriginally posted by Ab13 View PostIt shouldn't have, but unfortunately I am working and saving for my MBA, can't afford a bike with under 30kmpl. I was getting my P220 serviced on 27th jan, when this Duke 200 was rolled in for the PDI.
The Bike sounds monstrous, like a proper 'race' bike. The Bike is also big in proportions, a bit wider than the P220.
The price is 1.33 lacs

on road chennai, bookings open from feb 1
Only the KTM trademark orange colour will be available it seems.
I want to know whether this bike has a Fuel Injection or a Carburettor like in the pulsar 200NS. So can somebody post the full specifications?
